Do they they have CD radar??

Post by Marcy »

Just wanted to share, it was kind of funny.
I was shopping with my wife this weekend. I was just dressed "normal" for me, as a guy, jeans and a Oldnavy shirt.
In both Express and Charlotte Rousse the sales girls asked how are you "ladys" today. My wife and I just looked at each other and laughed....

I could understand this when my hair is long/colored, but it is short and boring right now. I really was showing no signs, aside from earrings, but they were even punk/tribal ones....I am no where near fem looking or built when not dressed up. I haven't even wax my eyebrows for a while. :)

So do these girls have radar or what? :-k
Wow, I love this place.
Thanks

Marcy,
Don't know were your are from as I have never been "Behind the Zion Curtain." but I would say that once being called a lady dressed as you describe = well I would let it go, but twice during the same shopping trip?? First I would want my wife's input - What did she think was going on? Sure she laughted, but I would bet after she thought about it - it may not have been as funny as she thought. Just curious!?

Hi Marcy,

I think that's so wonderful that you were out en drabbe and still were considered a gal. :) There have been a few threads where the topic of not being dressed and someone referring to you as "she" has been discussed. I know when it happened to me there's no way I thought I looked even halfway like a gal, but the woman kept saying I was until her husband corrected her. :)

I think, maybe, the cashiers really did think you were a gal. :) It's GREAT you went shopping with your wife. :) :) =D> :) :)

Hi Marcy

I think it is quite possible that some GG's have a certain abiliity (radar) to sense that we are crossdressers. Although you were in total drab and were presenting yourself in male mode the clerks may have picked up on some visual clue..the earrings.. or by the way you were conducting yourself in the stores. Most men are very uncomfortable being in a woman's clothing store even with their wives. If you were relaxed and projecting the attitude that you belonged there and were comfortable shopping it could be the clerks recognized you as a crossdresser and were only trying to make you feel welcome in the store. It's really no big deal..matter of fact it's kinda nice that they would treat you like any other woman customer. If that had been me I certainly would not hestitate to go back to those stores and shop.

I know that most women possess a 'gay-dar', but I'm not sure if they have a 'CD-dar'.

It used to happen to me occasionally when my hair was long but since having it cut short I no longer experience that pleasure :(

I believe that when you experience this happening it gives you a good deal of confidence to go out dressed :)

Interesting. The same thing has happened to me several times in the past year. My SO and I both smiled, she because she knew I enjoyed it, and I because I did enjoy it. I have medium length hair (slightly over the ears), but hair length preferences for women seem to be getting so much shorter for many women that that isn't much of a differentiator any more. Maybe there is a CD-ar.
