Well, it would appear that everyone had a good time at the banquet. It was nice to have four different people address "us."
Of course, one of the owners of Fielden's welcomed us, as this is an annual event. Then the state chairperson for "Pink Essence" gave us some information. Pink Essence is kind of an up and coming international group for all TG but its primary direction is simply social. To establish groups that can simply meet and visit with one another. They are working on lists of TG friendly places to go in various towns and cities. Then the James River TG group spoke about how this support group operates and the successes they are having. Two of the girls who are in transition spoke and said how much this group support had helped them. The last speaker was the president of Gay Pride in Virginia (he was cute!). He asked for our support as we are trying to merge all the various groups under one umbrella and become (probably) a political power to advance our causes.
Other than the dinner being moved from 9:00pm to 10:00pm (I hate to eat that late) it was a very nice evening and all the girls dressed so nice and we just had a great time!
There are lots of activities planned in the future, May 4th is the next JRTG meeting then that same evening is the first Friday's at Fielden's then the 5th - Saturday, the JRTG group is sponsoring a picnic in conjunction with the FTM group at a local park in Richmond - that is going to be fun too!
Get out, ladies, and enjoy life!!!!! There are many things to do, you may have to look hard to find them, but they are worth the effort!
Love,
Virginia

I think I got to bed around 4AM, following the usual return to him routine.
The Inn is certainly getting worse. There was water standing in front of the elevators on at least two floors this morning. Probably all the floors.
Made it home in time to mow half the lawn before the rain moved in. Luckily it was the front half.
Then my wife and I went shopping. G\My wife got what she went after, and a little more. I got a couple of nice deals at Talbots and Coldwater Creek, and not a hint of disdain from my wife

I, too, enjoyed the dinner - prime rib and chicken cordon bleu, to name a few - if anyone went hungry, it was their own fault, as the food was delicious.
I'm looking forward to our participation in several of the events that were discussed, and I'll be attending the JRTG meeting next month, and we'll be going to the picnic the next day, too. I completely agree with Virginia - the president of the Gay Pride group is cute, actually, he's very hawt! I've always heard that all the good-looking men are either gay or married - but I'll have to add 'CD' to the list, too, because Virginia's male alter ego is gorgeous, too!!
I had a great time seeing the girls again, and met a few new faces - well, new to me, anyway. I think there were only 4 GG's there, including myself and Charity, whose first time was last night. She promised to be at First Friday in May with her SO, Erin, and I look forward to seeing them again. It would be great if more GG's showed up, as I take that as a positive sign of 'acceptance'.
Virginia's biggest nemesis at the pool table, Amber, was bragging about getting 2 new pool cues and was anxious to try them out. They've made a tentative 'date' for the June 'First Friday' night.
Speaking of pool - Donna, Virginia and I played 3 games last night. We let Donna start the first game, as she was the winner last week. Virginia won the first and third game, and I won the second game! Woo Hoo!! It's about time that I finally won a game against those two pool sharks!!
After saying our goodbyes to our friends, Virginia and I left about 1:45am and headed for the hotel. We left the hotel around 11:30am, headed for the local 7-11 for some much-needed fuel - for both my truck and ourselves (ie, coffee, cappuccino, and donuts!) - we were on the road by 12noon. We had a light rain the entire drive, but luckily there were no accidents, even with the fog on Afton Mountain.
If it wasn't raining when we left the hotel this morning, we were planning on doing more shopping today. We'll save that for our next trip to Richmond.
Donna - sorry to hear about the watered-floors at the Inn. Our hotel is only a 10-minute drive, if that, from Fielden's - why don't you give it a try next time? I'm glad you went shopping with the wife this afternoon and you were able to get some things for yourself, too - that's great!! How was your wood turners meeting?
