How to wear a dress?

Post by Jessie »

I have question that I am hoping some may be able to help with. Being Single makes it hard for me to put on some dresses. My questions is and I do not belive that this is just realated to CDs but. How do you pull up the zipper on the back of a dress if you do not have anyone to help you?

Well what you can do, and I have done this for a Speedo swimsuit I have. Is attach a ribbon or something that will both fit in the hole of the zipper pull and be long enough to grab and use that to pull it up. It works equally as well with unzipping.

Hi Gaven,

GREAT idea! :)

I'd never thought of that. My answer was going to be, sit around and pout. :)

Thanks for the help!

Shannon, I loved your reply. I envisioned a parakette pulling up a zipper. That was a great visual. Thanks.

Hi all,

I've done this also (used a hooked wire) and it works fine. Even an "untwisted" hanger will do in a pinch. A word of warning, though: be mindful that the tip doesn't snag the delicate material of your dress or you'll have to trot out your sewing skills.

Love,
CJ

Hi Nicole,

Welcome!!! :)

Also, like Charlene said, "Nice one!" :)

Hi Francine :) I had a problem like that when I used to wear my mothers clothes as a teenager. Got that zipper half way up and it got caught and  anything I tryed didn't work. Now you talk about a panic attack. But as years go on I have learned to hold the dress down as I zip it up. Hugs
