I have a Hoyer lift gathering dust half used as a clothing rack...takes up space but when my wife has fallen off the bed side commode, or when I did not quite make it and she slid from the bed to the floor it has been very handy...couple of times moved her from Wheel Chair to bed that way but it was hard to get the sling under her when seated. I am lucky though and have learned haven't had to use it in months, perhaps a year?
If your gender is really strong enough to make you fight internally because you are resisting and suppressing that part of yourself...bad place to be and it can be distracting and cause some stress...you probably need to discuss this especially if no one else knows. Didn't you say your wife knows? If not the closest person in your life should know. After that you need to use your "radar" to read individuals around you, I have developed a whole circle of people who know I am gender fluid and these people have absolutely no problem at all with it, they accept me no matter how I am dressed on any particular day. It does become so much easier once you begin to widen the group of people who know. I even answer the door when I am dressed because I am gender fluid, it's who I am as a whole person you have to be who you are, be yourself. Be true to yourself.
The best place to be is to be able to state quite openly as a matter of fact "I am gender fluid" or "I am transgender" or "I cross dress because this is part of who I am." I have no problem stating who I am. But I do with hold this from those who would never accept it especially if I care about them and enjoy having them in my life and do not want to ruin a relationship, some people just cannot handle it and would be insistent on fixing me or prodding me to see a psychiatrist and get on medications I have a sister like that so she is not in my inner circle but we talk all the time on the phone and I enjoy having her in my life. She does not and will never know I am partly feminine.

Re: A new picture.
Hi Anne! She is getting a little stronger everyday and set up in home physical therapy and occupational therapy. She is getting around the house really good but I know the danger of a fall can happen. There is some talk of her brother coming to help out which would enable me to finish the school year which would help financially. We shall see.
She knows I have dressed in women's clothes and has picked out a dress and a blouse for me. But she does not know about this site or how far I have progressed in dressing. There are three women at school that know about Olivia. All three have seen pictures, two have actually met Olivia, and one has bought Olivia some items of clothing and accessories. There is another woman who has at least a good idea of my desires but does not know about Olivia. They are helpful and supportive and it is nice to be able to talk to them. I certainly do agree that I am probably never to going to come out to everyone, but, as you have, pick the people very carefully. I took the gamble last night and closed some doors and was able to put on the nice purple dress given to me by one of my GG's. I was dressed for about 1/2 an hour with no shoes and no make-up, but it felt wonderful. I am still trying to figure out more logistics, but plan on more of these short sessions. Oh, yes I like hats. In drab I always wear a baseball hat. Olivia wears a hat in order to keep the hair from falling in my face every time I move my head. But I really do like wearing hats. My mother was a hat person and in the fifties and sixties had great hats.

Re: A new picture.
Hi Olivia,
Haven't checked in for a while but I've often thought about you. It sounds like progress is happening. I'm thankful.
Having never experienced anything like you are going through I can't provide practical insights like some other folk have. But I know you're strong and in the end all will be well.
Hang in there.
Kelly.

Re: A new picture.
Thanks Kelly. It has been a busy few weeks and I do look for you when I am on site. I will do better in keeping in touch at least with PM's. There is so much going on and things seem to change with new challenges every day. Hopefully I can live up to your words. Thanks again and I wish you lived around the conner. Talk soon.
