Shopping for Glasses

Post by Davita »

I can't remember the first time, but I'm fairly sure by that time I was comfortable expressing my needs to the sales folk for selecting my fem pair and for fitting them to me.

So now... I am about to get my new prescription after having cataract surgery and getting my astigmatism fixed for both eyes. I want (dare say I need) new glasses. Sixty five years of seeing everything and having safety glasses and sun glasses that I simply put on my face in the morning and forget them until bedtime is what I want to return to. Soooo it's shopping time! Sadly, I'll most likely be drab when I shop, but that's okay as I have a good eye (pun pun) for being able to match my fem face with long hair without actually having to be all prettied up.

I remember a couple times while drab and looking thru the wall of fem glasses, was reminded I was looking at the women's glasses by the salesperson. Once in awhile I have been glanced at when trying them on, but never a reaction one way or the other by other customers. When getting fitted, the only comments were about my choice and the tech requirements for the lenses and not about the fact they were fem. But then I'm chatting with the folks, I'm not hiding who I am. Oh, I will be getting a unisex pair or "male" and an obvious fem pair.

How has been y'alls shopping experiences?
