My soon-to-be ex and I discussed something along those lines after we first got married. We had our wedding at the Virginia Renaissance Faire in 1995, so costumes weren't anything new to us. We thought our bond was forever then, so planning for the future was no problem for us. After the first couple of anniversaries, we didn't seem to have much to celebrate, such were our difficulties (first financial, later marital), so we never got around to having any fancy "renewal of vows" ceremonies.

It's funny. In spite of all that has gone on between us, I still love her, and I am trying (very hard sometimes) to be her friend. Now she has found someone else, and she claims that she might marry this one. She's asked if, it that should happen, would I participate in the wedding? I've told her I might, but to expect that there might be an extra "female" in her party.

Calina,
I did the same, and explained all to my SO prior to us even living in the same state together. At first she was very accepting of this side of me, probably the novelty of it all, but now. Well, I like Jay, probably have a soon-to-be Ex. Although we are trying to turn things around to make the marriage more positive for us both, but I will not give up who I am (Hayley) for her or anyone for that matter) as I am me and if you don't want that part of me then you don't want me as a whole. I can no longer tolerate within myself being only half the person I know I am. Our first wedding anniversary is in a week, but we have been living together since 2001. Go figure. Anyhoo, despair not for we (Elizabeth, Jay, myself and others not mentioned (sorry Girls)) in this type of situation have survived life so far or we wouldn't be posting here. But your support is ever so appreciated and cherished.

Back to your original post. I hope all goes well for our soon-to-be Bride and Groomette :) May it be easier to plan than the first , but just as much fun. Good luck to you both for now and the future.

Hi Calina,

If I were offered this I'd be like, "Wow! You so rock!" exactly like you said when you said your heart leaped. :)

However, I'd only want to see the person I'm married to walk down the aisle in a wedding dress to me her TG'd guy. :) When I was younger I never really wanted to be the bride.

So for me if my wife offered that I'd know I was among the luckiest TG'd people alive because I have an awesomely romantic wife, but then I'd return her romantic notion to another romantic thought and tell her, "No way. You're the only bride in this marriage. I'd love to get married again, but you stay the bride and I'll be your groom." Which I think would make her heart leap. :)

Maybe that night she could pick out something for me to wear that she'd like to see me in (in white naturally) :)

Best of luck for the both of you!!! :)

Calina,
Perhaps just a small "Re-dedication of Vows!" in your home with a few friends?? I would think you could find a minister willing to do the "deed!"
I think it would be really sweet!
Hadley, Jaye, Elizabeth, moi (Virginia), One more and we got a basketball team of "ex's"! I don't mean to make light of "our plight," but its life and like it was said, Virginia is here to stay, and first, there ain't nuttin I can or want to do about it and second, if she don't like it, " bite me!"
Love ya all!!!!
