Thank you Deborah. That scalloped effect is from my peach colored nightgown from Sears.
I am shaving tonight and the hair is very soft and fine feeling. I cannot remember a time when the hair was so fine or soft feeling. I am not sure why of course, I will have to ask at my next appt.
I read a little something about this but do not really remember the reasoning behind this effect. If you scroll back and compare the previous pictures to the most recent there is really a difference as I see it in the mirror.
Hugs

Hi girls:
No change really. I have rather soft, fine hair and it shaves off simply and quickly. Also I have noticed that there appears to be less when I let it grow for 24 hours. Of course, I could be into some cycle right now that is doing this, but I have not knowingly experienced it before.
It is no trick at all to cover the light shadow. Without any real effort I can cover it with Max Factor Pan-Stick, a light coat or two is all that is needed. I will have a chance next week to see how long it covers before it becomes obvious perhaps. Everyone is schduled to be at home for the week but if I do not have a client, I will cover it up in male mode and see what it looks like at the end of the day.
That should be pretty simple. I already do that everyday lightly, so as no one really notices. They are getting used to seeing me look lighter around that part of the face.
So far this has been a good idea. We shall see by the end of the 30 day period after the 3rd treatment. That would put me into the end of August, time for the children to go back to school and Labor day.
Hugs

This Am I had little if anything visible to shave, Amen!!
As an engineer I take everything to an extreme so I went ahead and put my ear plugs in so I could hear through bone conduction, the shaver on my face. I have done this before and it used to sound like a facial grinder as it hit the heavy whiskers.
Today, I could barely hear anything more than a quiet wosh over my face. As any hair was found it was very very quiet in comparison to before which ws like a buzz saw going through a redwood forest.
This has been great so far. What we all want to know is after the last two treatments and the hair appears to be gone, will it come back and when? Several Doctors to promote their business have indicated patients not shaving after a full two years has gone by. This science in it's present application is so new that there are not too many people that can be tracked over any real length of time yet. So I am on the "cutting edge" girls. I will be honest and tell you from time to time how it is going over the next few years. But, who wants to wait to see?
My car insurance for 2 people and 2 auto's is $1650.00 per year. If this hair process lasts 3 years, then it will have cost me about $400.00 for each year based on the initial cost , over the 3 years. I can live with that!!!

For those of you following this thread I think that this little bit of information is pertinent.
During my Dentist office visits I let it slip about my IPL treatments. Here were two young women in their 20's looking at me thru head mounted magnifiers at my teeth and brow and chin. While they made no mention of it at the time that they were bleaching my teeth for the first time ever, they now look at me and say, you are "changing."
There is something different about your face and they get right up close to me. I mean close enough to count the pores on my face [kind'a close]. What they have not figured out is that a time or two, I did not wear any makeup to their office when I knew they would be working on me and the make-up would come off on their gloves or a facial wipe that they would use to clean up the splash back from the equipment.
So, now everyone is interested in my changing appearance as of today when I stopped by to pay a small balance remaining on my bill. They all came out from the operatorys' when they heard that I was there. Even the Doctor, whom, wanted me to write down the information about removing brown (liver spots) from the hands. They all want to know how my "no shaving the face" campaign is going.
So far they do not know that I use a light dusting of make-up in "male" mode. I blend everything so well these days that I just look younger, and refreshed. No one has said, "a ha! You are wearing make-up." And believe me they would if they thought that was the case.
They do not know about me belonging to the T* family yet. I may never say anything because my wife goes to the same dentist and she would never go there again if she thought that they knew about my T* status. It is already nearly impossible to get her to go as it is. A bad experience in her childhood looms over her when her appointment comes up on the calendar of medical events so I have to drive her and sit with her.
Okay, so I am lookin' good baby! Fewer hairs, easier to camoflage my appearance and little shaving every 12 hours. I still get hairs but they are finer than before the treatment. I am a happy camper girls!
Hugs

A word about the Palomar Company providing the IPL equipment. They entered into an agreement with the Gillete Company last August 2003. The agreement is for them to produce for Gillete a "HOME UNIT" for women to use to remove hair by themselves. I guess the writing is on the wall for the "BLADE BOYS."

Danielle,
I am excited for you! I am enjoying reading about your success. As for the blades, I have tried some of these female blades and pardon my fench, but, "they suck!" I like my triple track Gillette.
God luck with you future treatments and I look forward to hearing about them.
Love,
Deborah

Thank you Deborah.
I thought that I should mention my next evaluation is going to be just under the eyes. Where we girls lose our collagen by the 40's. So this area is a little gray in color from the loss of collagen and the vesicles that are located there.
I have seen that plastic surgeons are using this IPL therapy as a non-invasive means to accomplish the same thing that was previosuly performed with a trained hand and scapel.
No, the IPL will not do a lift or tuck but it will help the collagen to come back and fill the lose skin in that area and it will lighten the skin surface.
So on my next visit I am going to inquire about there expereince in this area. Since it is so close to the eyes, it is better to ask about expereince and resulting proof than to look the other way just because of the MD on the shingle. I choose not to be an experiment when it comes to my vision.
Experience and technique really do count for something girls!
By and by, for those that may have a lot of arm, chest, or back hair, this is for you girls! It may take several trreatments but it will work as seen on many medical web sites. Cost is the only thing holding most people back. I am sure your spouse would be glad to see the hair go!
Well, you only live once, we all have said that before, but to act on it and take a chance, that is totally different. I have maybe 30 years left so I am not going to waste them on other peoples opinions and phobias.
I will post a new photo in the PHOTO SECTION of me as Danielle, today.

I took the time to examine my face in a mirror that is 5x magnification.
Hello to me!
The skin is smooth, the majority of pores show no little black spot any more. The hair is not visible in the upper layers of skin. It could be down below, out of site but there are some pores that have the "pepper" appearance. A hair girls. Take a little finely ground pepper and sprinkle ever so few so lightly on a white sheet of paper. Say, 30 or 40 specks of pepper the point of a pin net the head.
That is what I can barely seen in a mirror that provides 5x magnification. To get a better perspective, go to your favorite store in the cosmetic and comb section and find one of these dual sided round 6 or 8 inch mirrors. Flip it over to the 5x magnification and you will see how one can see the pores and the little black hair in each. Evev after shaving before of course, these were everywhere and formed the dreaded "shadow" that we all try to hide with heavy makeup.
GONE! I do see some tiney tiny tiny gold colored hairs with little melanin in them. Like peach-fuzz hairs that you see on a persons skin if the sunlight is just right. These also could be "white" hairs due to my advanced age. They are so small I think it is best to say they are meaningless at this time. I think these are the ones I can still feel if I carefully pass my hand over my fae with very little contact.\
I still have a few dark hairs at the corners of my mouth. They will get those this next treatment with a smaller hand-held unit that will permit them to more closely treat this area so close to the lips.
Honestly, my face looks according to others that have seen me close-up, like I was a young person, pre-adolescent, before the testosterone kicked in to generate this condition.
So one word of caution girls! This cannot be undone. If you are attached to the idea of this characteristic, defining your "male" personality, do not do this until you are sure you want the result!
It is working better than I could have ever hoped for this first treatment. The next thng to continue watching for is the way my skin surface rebuilds itseslf over the coming months. It is like watching paint dry girls, so you must be patient like me, ha ha LOL.
I absolutely will have this technology applied under my eyes to chase away the darkness that has developed over the years and rebuild the collagen there. I am going to look like a million bucks when this is done.
Who would have thought that I, a frugle spender would invest this way, but then, it is me that I am investing in and so far it has been great with my clients. They expect to see someone with experience but that is youthful looking as well. This is the ticket for me!
I will do another photo with the "macro" mode and have Beauty include it here so you can see what I see really close up. No, I will not take a picture of my "behind" and try to pass it off as my face....
.
Honest Girls!
Hugs

Latest Photo page: Super close-up photo will appear here soon:
Note the pepper like specs under the bottom lip and at the mouth corners. These are the next ones to go after on treatment 2.
This photo is macro mode: skin texture is smooth and collagen is filling in.
All signs of treatment are gone.

Danielle,
I have heard that as we age one side of our face will tend to "collapse" faster thatn the other. I have noticed that I have more of a "sag" under my left eye than my right. Fortunately, with the proper use of makeup I can cover it right now. Do you tihink that collegen "therapy" would help that?
Love,
Deborah

Hi Deborah:
I could jump on that and say "sure" but then, I am not really medically qualified in this therapy to say that. I really would find a local dermatologist and ask him/her. Many will gladly answer basic questions for little or no fee. If they smell an opportunity to gain a new client that is.
Just be optimistic and hopeful looking. Plus you can always ask what a consult will cost. Some are happy to quote a basic fee for their information. By the way, many feel that information is still free but in reality, I do not remember my college giving me any free course information other than where to sign up and how much the course would cost.
So to be fair, what a doctor "thinks" is his value in trade as it is with a lawyer. People try to discount their question as only a question but really they are just looking for free information and have gone through life that way. I get them all the time in the computer networking business.
So, expect to pay a fair wage for fair information. Besides, this could be the best thing you have done for yourself in many years. Can't hurt to find out. Take action next week and tell me what you have found out. It is a good expereince and you may be out nothing or only a few dollars well spent to find out. I do know that IPL cannot repair deep lines. JUst surface stuff. A plastic surgeon may be needed to do a "tuck and roll."
When we get my new close-up pictures posted by Beauty, you are gojng to see something absolutely amazing. My facial collagen is rebuilding on the surface and even my spouse is rubbing my face more often now!! She remarked how baby soft I was! Oh yeah, what ever it takes!!
Just wait until you see the current results girl. I am waiting on Beauty to post for me. Hi Beauty, I was just talking about you!!!
!!!
