Okay Girls here are those new photos. Do not let the light blind you, I am shiny and new!

Jo Ann, I only know from the Palomar web site under investment news that they posted the "press release" info for last August's agreement with the Gillette Company, to produce a HOME unit for women.

Let me be clear for you and others. Any time we manufacturer something with a medical application in mind, for release to the general public, it is often very weak or "reduced" in strength. The "masses" are not trusted with anything that could have a potentially harmful outcome.

I think, Palomar is testing to see how low they can turn the power down and still get results and still get it pased the FDA for public use. You want to remove hair, the FDA does not want you removing skin, ha ha LOL.

I can only immagine that it will be released in the next 3 years. It may take that long just to get FDA approval after they have made a working prototype for the FDA to test and certify.

There are times that I surely come off as extremely opinionated. I am aware of this and am making strides toward a better approach girls.

Permit a few lines to take experience from my business.

I offer information and skill as a serivce in the booming computer business field. Many of my clients are small business people. One observation from my experience is that people will automatically lower the value of your service to get a smaller bill. Will no particular reference to any one thing, thay think that with everything working correctly, everything backed up and protected, everything safe from the internet pirates, that they should not have to pay what I charge them.

Bottom line. People want something from you that will benefit them, but not you the supplier. Simply, it is okay for them to make a living and even get rich but you, no, that is simply not acceptable.

So I never lower my bill! Never! I am worth every cent. A man of the Jewish fatih told me, "in business, always be a good Jew." "The Jew rides the wagon, the christian pulls the wagon." Wow! It took me time to get it, but he is right. I am worth every cent that I charge because I always give 110% on every job for every client. I ride the wagon!

What has this got to do with anything in this thread?

You can ride the wagon or you can pull the wagon. You can find the money that you need to get your face in shape or you can let someone else try to sell you an alternative that will not do the job half as well.

I had a client that said he could not afford to do what was needed. Besides, he was scheduled to go to Las Vegas for 2 weeks vacation and had set money aside for this trip. I told him to cancel the trip, spend the money on the upgrades and new network and he would make 100% on his money in 60 days and then go on the trip.

With a death in the family, he cancelled his trip, had me do the work while he was away on bereavement. He called me 56 days later to tell me that he had sold 2 homes via my setup and advice, did more that 100%, and re-scheduled for the fall, his trip to Las Vegas. Everyone in the family thought he was a miracle worker, a genius at business.

Bottom line. If this is right for you, you will find a way to manage it. At first my spouse was on the edge of her seat about me doing this. She has not seen Danielle except in photos in my office/den. She pretends not to see but, they are 5 x7's and a few 3 x5's on top of the monitor. Can't miss them!

I have taken a stand in my life and risked everything because I am doing what I think is right for me after 35 years of marriage. I think that my spouse has been very reasonable about my behavior, but so have I. A two way street girls. Give and take. My spouse this weekend promised to read 3 pages of information that I have prepared especially for her about the T* community, with a 4th page as a glossary of terms that she wil need to understand.

Life is an on-going project to me. I am applying a lifetime of education, management and supervisory experience, coupled with positive attitude ideas that I have collected over the years of extensive reading. All of this from someone that at age 17, went into the U.S. Army with 1 1/2 years of high-school completed and the courage to know that I needed to improve myself before I would be of any value to anyone else.

Another good web site that goes into detail about the IPL therapy approach. An update to their statements is the use of the"Medilux System" which currently is the first choice of many informed physicians. With 7 years of experience, Palomar, the sole manufacturer of the Medilux System, has been sought out by major players such as Gillette for both their expertise and manufaturing skill with this type of technology instrumentation.

The Medilux System by Palomar is at:

Palomar has other systems and several different technologies that they provide that can found at the home page of this site.

Honesty is the best policy:

Yikes! This afternoon I found some nasty looking little no color hairs in my upper lip. Oh no I cried!, can these be the dreaded "white hairs." Ahhhh, I ran from the room with my trusty Norelco in hand ,bzzzzz.

Ah, back at the mirror with the sunlight streaming through the window, my reflection once again looked like Danielle the smoothie girl.

So, after the next treatment, no 2, I will know if they will get zapped or not. I will have electrolysis if necessary but let us bow our heads in prayer and hope that it will not be necessary cause I do not like needles, baaah boo hoo.... :-({|= .......

Honestly, it would not really be the end of the world as I know it, as at my age I knew that there could be some of those little devils hiding out in the thicket of my upper lip. NUTS! No not mine girls.!!!

Damn the torpedoes, "full power" ahead and burn baby burn those puppies out of their hiding places (my folicles) ha ha LOL. ZAP ME DOC!

Well Beauty, I was told to shave every day during the treatment period. In the morning there really isn't much to deal with. Just a lite fuzz feeling but from my pictures you can see those are still dark hairs that will go the next time around in treatment no 2. Those fine hairs that I saw this afternoon were observed by a chance circumstance and they are close to the edge of the nose. So I can understand how they might have not been exposed to enough energy from the large flash head that is used to first cover a wide swath. It only takes 30 seconds to get the current hairs.

I just like to play the "drama queen" for a little fun. If I get a few of these I can always go for electrolysis and have them stung away!
Ouch!

I really could easily go several days without anyone really noticing anything. Just like my picture shows, everything seems to be pretty much terminated. I can only feel a few hairs on the jaw line, a few on the neck and a few on the upper lip. I am more than happy with this result so far. Really, this is like picking fish in a barrel now. If I never did anything about them it would be simple to maintain. I got 500% over what I thought might happen the first time around.

I can only say the manufacturer is really honest about their product. Providing the the proper power level is used for a patients skin type, much of the hair can be terminated on a first pass with the [Yellow banded] wand from the Medilux System. The Doctor used a setting of [5] with that wand to get this first pass result for my skin type.

Looking back at my initial pre-treatment photos bares this out. I will take an original picture and blow it up for a better view and send it to you for publication.

My last shaving cycle has been 24 hours. I can now clearly see white hairs on the ends of my chin, and underneath on my neck in one dime size patch. In the deflected sunlight it is obvious that these are hairs with "no apparent melanin." In a 8in dia, 5x mirror they are what I have been shaving the past few days.

This was to be expected primarily because of my age, current 55 yrs old. I have graying sideburns to accompany this greying beard area. If The technology was available 10 years ago, I would have been better off then doing what I recently did becuase of availablility. We all come with forward gears only, sorry girls, no reverse that I know of.

So, consider this technology before "going" white. Physics being what it is, specific laws of nature and the universe, getting those hairs while they are their darkest is the best approach. Advances are sure to come, but the light spectrum will not change so do not hold your breath for this technology to get around the basic physics principles that it uses to accomplish the task.

For now, they tell me that the hair may still contain some melanin that is difficult to see with the naked eye. The next treatment, they will use a different head unit that covers a different range of the light spectrum. To try to get thosr few white looking hairs. The Doctor expressed confidence on friday over the telphone that this strategy was anticipated knowing my age.

Girls, I am 10,000 per cent happy with how fast this went. If I had the money I would offer to the first 100 girls, full payment, free of any charges, benefits. But, alas, I too work for my money like everyone else.

So I must leave it up to each one of you to decide on this idea and then fund same. Besides, I guess it is true, you appreciate things more if you have to pay for them.

While the digital camera in macro mode shows a few dark hairs still, they are not visible to me in the regular mirror. The 5x mirror barely shows them. I can almost count them and give them each a name, ha ha LOL.

In the next treatment we will have a moment of silence after the treatment for those that got zapped! Good by pete, joe, harry, moe, larry currlly, mick, and mike. Adios!

So if you have just arrived, you may wish to backup and jump around a little and look at the pre-treatment photos, then the recent two post treatment pics.

I think that you will get the idea fast.

For anyone wishing to look at the comparison. I have placed an enlarged pre-treatment photo back in this thread about 5 or 6 entires back so it would be on the same page as the other two after-1st treatment photos.

Even 3-blind mice can see the difference!

I have posted a new photo in the album section titled "Today's Danielle,' if anyone is interested. This photo is outside, absolute minimum I have ever done on makeup. No eyebrows or eyes were done. A little lipstick on each cheek covered and blended with a finger dab of Maf Factor blend. I also did this on my chin to make things look even.

Tell me what ya think girls??? Compliments are welcome...boo's are discarded with the digital trash.....    .

Tuesday, June 29th, 2:30pm is my next appointment and treatment #2.

Everything about my skin has normalized and been that way since about June 12th. The first 7 days after treatment I noticed the most changes as I returned to my everyday skin.

I now can say that where they exposed me to the light, my skin is softer. I have no irregular red or brown marks of any kind. Natural skin coloration from the sun is pretty much lightened. I have a brithmark, brown in color (melanin) and it is a shade or two lighter. I expect by 30 days after the third treatment that this should be significantly lighter and by Christmas or earlier, not visible any longer. Like brown spots on the back of the hand, anything with malanin is altered to some degree by exposure to IPL.

I have posted photos in this thread and Danielle photos in the gallery showing my current results. For someone, in their 20's or 30's this could be a great thing!! Youthful looks and no facial hair. A CD's delight!

I will be here again right after the next treatment.

Hello Girls:

Yes, it is me again.

I have just sent Beauty a photo showing my current status, 1 hour after the 2nd treatment.

Needless to say I look like I was slapped with a leather strap over the upper and lower lip.

I have removed the "Red" spectrum from this picture by about 50% so you can see the "hottest" areas of impact. They did both my entire neck and face again. This time, they have used a more intense, deeper reaching hand-unit called the type [R's] unit from "Palomar."

The type [R's] unit is supposed to go deeper into the skin than the type [Y] handle but has a smaller surface area than the type [Y]. The type [Y] handle was in the 1st treatment and did a good initial job of clearing for the first time. I will not lie girls, Yikes, you need a good attitude with this on the first pass if they use the type [Y] at a seting of 5 or greater.

The Doctor said he would have used the type [R's] handle if he had it available on the first pass now that he has seen some recent results with others. Less painful that the [Y] handle, the [R's] is designed to cover a wider frequency spectrum and more intense energy, deeper into the skin with less skin interaction, meaning less pain. It takes more hits with the type [R's] handle since it's coverage area is slightly smaller than the type [Y].

I am typing this at 4:40pm, I was treated from 2:40 - 3:20pm... I am already not feeling any burning as I used fresh aloe plant on the skin surface immediately after getting into my vehicle. I slather it on girls, it ain't pretty, but hey, I am on the ride home so just do not look into my vehicle window    ...

The small black dots in the picture are of course, the deceased, Larry, Moe and Curly Joe hairs.

This is going super D' Duper well. I am tickled hairless! I do have some white hairs girls, (55 yr old) so I can expect that. This type [R's] unit may get those if there is any sign of melanin down to the bulb of the hair folicle.
I hope so. Even if I have a few left, I shaved this AM in under a minute with a quality Norelco electric only and looked "Danielle - fresh." For now, I can live with that. This is enough of a miracle for me by and large.

The birth mark is almost completely faded out. You have to know where to look to see it in the photo.

QUESTIONS??????
We will post the picture after Beauty sends me the URL for it. She has been a dear and is hosting it for all of us to see....yeah, Beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here is the photo girls.

Within another 2 hours, after my first post, the major redness completely disappeared. I have one or two spots of tenderness-like bruising, only red and black spots about my face show any sign that something has happened to me. Right now, I have that lumpy feeling again around all treated areas. The skin etc, is repairing itself, and I suspect that this will last about 7 days as before. Perhaps less, since this was to be more intense, but is more capable of directing the energy into the "bulb" of the hair follicle. I make no bones about the fact that this is questionable but I am told there is sound physics supporting the technology claims.

The doctor remarked to me today that I have done a good job of caring for my skin. My face was in very good condition for my age and I had good hydration making me a very good candidate for this technology. He remarked that he has turned away people for this very reason after examining their skin closely, he determined that this type of intense exposure might be to great for them. Even after the skin has lost some of it's "tan," too much unprotected skin exposure to the sun may rule a person out for the ethical doctor. The skin becomes to "thin" and can rupture, leaving scarring and pigmentation discoloration. This applies to LASER technology as well. Before proceeding, it would be wise to ask about qualifications and experience of the person doing the work.

I wish to thank everyone as they have been of great moral support to me as I endeavor to apply this technology. This was another great day for me!

Hi Girls:

With the 2nd treatment completed, I have little red and black pepper spots about my upper lip and lower lip to chin area. This was the area that had the most hairs left from the first treatment. There are three stages to hair.

Anagen Stage: the active phase of hair growth, and generally lasts for several months. At any given time, most of our body hair is in this part of the hair-growth cycle.

Catagen Stage: during this brief phase, the hair bulb regresses and begins to shrink.

Telogen Stage: at the end of this resting phase, which typically lasts a few months, hair is released from the shrivelled follicles and the anagen phase begins again.

The Doctor estimated that over the 3 months, a treatment per month, that he could get 95% of the hairs that had enough melanin for the IPL technique to work on them. He has already done that in two treatments. There should be a few hairs left to get on treatment 3. The white hairs, may go or may not depending on the amount of melanin still in the bulb but not the hair itself.

I drone on about this information but with a complete marketing package in my hands from Palomar, I can see over 50 photos of various treatment levels for about 15 different characteristics that the system can address.

They even have an improved photo for a "Scar" about 1.5 inch long, 1/2 inch wide. No, it cannot remove the scar tissue but it smoothed the scar and took out redness around the edge of it. Make-up could not be used to conceal the final scar zone better than before treatment.

Acne, brown spots, leisions, red or brown, poof!, disappear after a treatment or 2 if done right. Power level and your skin pigmentation must be taken into account to coincide to get the best results. Darker skin will require lower power levels and thus more treatments to treat the same situation on someone with lighter skin that can be treated in 1 or 2 treatments. The "physics" involved in this cannot be changed, so power level and pulse duration need to be determined for the best fit for each patient skin type.

Your doctor should know about the "Fitzpatrick" skin chart and how to apply that knowledge to get the best result with the least amount of treatments. Money is the key and of course, medical ethics verses business interests. I am very happy with what my Doctor said and did. We both agreed on the procedure, cost and amount of treatments.

A diamond has no intrinsic value until YOU the purchaser offer your hard earned money for it and the holder agrees to accept the payment in full.

A pound of gold in Las Vegas is equal to a pound of water in the desert!

Danielle,
Honey, very impressive. Thanks again for taking the time to share all this with us. What I can see in the pictures is the fact that even shaving could not get skin in that smooth condition and like you said a little makeup and maintaining that girlish figure and you will have to start carrying an even bigger club to keep the guys away.
Love ya,
Deborah
