Hi Girls
Yesterday we went to a wedding..beautiful..the bride in her lovely gown and her bridesmaids in teal dresses Here I was sweating..was a hot day.. in drab..black dress pants yuck and a shirt and I thought to myself why? I'm a girl inside but because I was born with this male body I have to play these games.
I saw the most beautiful girl yesterday. She was 6 ft tall wearing the dress
I could have imagined for myself. I know weddings are supposed to be joyous events and this was but somehow I came home feeling depressed because I can't be myself

Hi Joselle--
We said it the other night at support group--weddings, funerals, and graduations are tough, because they're not about you, and you don't want to intrude on other people's emotions at those times. We hear stories of transitioning people dressing in the other gender 'one last time,' for one of these events.

CDs do go through some unhappiness at these events, and you just experienced it first-hand. It's a very emotional time for everyone at a wedding, both good and bad. Maybe in the future, you'll get your chance, too.

Life doesn't always go the way we planned or the way we want.. Anita's right... Personally I wouldn't want my issues to infringe on anyone else negatively... I even try make sure that other shoppers at places I shop aren't offended because I don't want to drive customers away... So far that hasn't been an issue..

We can't do anything about the situation and as Anita said, it is not our day. Put it behind you and move on. I know what you mean but fretting about something you can't change does you no good whatsoever.

That must suck. My sister is getting married on saturday. we are very close she would never ask me to wear a dress or be a bridesmaid. I'm wearing tails, a dress shirt, a waistcoat and cravat. It makes me very happy to be able to wear formal men's wear at her wedding.
