Great Stuff

I was talking to one of my best friends the other night, she didnt know that I'm a crossdresser, and I finally came out to her. I was extremely scared to tell her, being that I've known her for two years and she's a very good friend.

But I told her, and it felt like time stopped between me telling and her answering, but when she finally did, it was, "Oh, okay."

At first I thought she was going to make up a flimsy excuse to hang up and never talk to me again, but then she said, "I'm really glad you trust me enough to tell me." It didnt go much farther there, but last night we talked on the phone and had a long conversation. She asked me what types of clothing I liked to wear, whether I wore makeup or not, and so on. The conversation lasted two hours, longer than I've ever spent on the phone even with my girlfriend. It was amazing, and last night, for the first time, I fell asleep feeling like I wasnt so alone for once. We have plans to go shopping this weekend.

Whew! What a sigh of relief. I am so glad for you Tracy. Take it slow, don't push things, let her take it all in. It's wonderful this is happening for you.

Stay Happy

Tracy,

First let me start by saying how happy I am for you and how proud I am of you that you were able to make this leap of faith.

I know when I first came here just months ago, I was aftaid someone might even see me on this site. I have now come out to everyone I know and I fully understand the liberating feeling of not having a big secret to myself.

I am so glad you have such a good friend who you trust so much. That is a valuable resource. Again, I am so happy for you, and wish the continuing growth and enlightenment.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Just an update, I drove up to her place this weekend, and we went shopping. She loves to pick out stuff for me and she has much better taste than I do. We sat together and she taught me how to do makeup after everyone went to sleep. It was great, and I've probably doubled the size of my wardrobe.

Also, the effect of just having someone you can talk to about it is amazing.

Hi Tracy,

Thanks for the update! I'm sorry I didn't say congrats on your original post, but that's great that you came out to someone! :)

I'm glad things are progressing, with our sharing. Please keep us updated.... ok, pretty please. :)

Hi all,

"Great stuff," indeed, Tracy! 8) This is the first freedom, without which no other can exist: the freedom to be who you are. The more you discover that those closest to you respect that freedom, the more you'll wonder why you ever thought that they wouldn't. Like others have said, just pace yourself. Give people time to approach this in their own way. Educate with love and understanding, not with a bullhorn.

Bravo, bravo, bravo, on your coming out (remember: it's also a "letting in"... and that's the part that feels so incredibly good)! :)

Love,
CJ

Tracy, Congratulations!!! I think our sister, Elizabeth, hit upon a "A Road Not Taken!"
"A leap of faith!!!" I think that a lot of us would be surprised at the postive acceptance we might receive from where the least expected might be.
I came out to my training partner a couple of weeks ago and, well in my heart I knew she would be accepting, but there was always that wee little bit of doubt until its over.
So anyway = "Go forth, and conquer ladies!" Girl Power!
