I told my Sister :)

I am just a phone call away from ringing my sis and asking if I can go round tonight for a chat while her boyfriend goes to work.

I have spoke with my Mum about telling her just a min ago and Mum said tell her, I just don't know why I want to tell her. My relationship with my sis is cool so I really don't know what the point in telling anyone is?

Can someone out there answer this quesion, I remember when I told my Mum I kept saying to her, I dont even know why I want to tell you.

I will ring her in 30mins to arrange to go round at 11 tonight, but I still don't know, I feel slightly confused as to my reason for telling her. ... very confused right now :?

Sophie,

It’s just a wild guess here, but I would say that you have an urge to come out to your sister for much the same reasons you did to your mother. Being/staying in the closet is a lonely existence and you may subconsciously want to have someone with whom you can share your secret without being ridiculed about it. You say that your relationship with your sister is “cool”. I take this to mean that you and she get along well together and are reasonably ‘close’ to each other. If this is the case, you may also feel that you NEED to share this part of your life with her for her information as well as your being open with her about it.

If you do decide to explain things to her and feel you need assistance in helping her to understand, send her to this forum and let her read some of the information available to her here. Also, please feel free to have her look over my web site since there’s a lot of information there that’s geared toward answering a lot of the serious questions she will surely have and quieting her fears about those questions. The address for my site is: http://www.geocities.com/senorita_cd .

Let us know how she handles your disclosure and I would appreciiate it if you would let me know if the information on my web site was of benefit to you and/or her.

!!!yes!!! And you probably feel that by sharing this that it may help you to have an even closer relationship with her.

Good luck :)

Hi all,

Sophie, what Dixie and Jassmine said! !!!yes!!!

You feel this "urge" to tell your Sis for the same reason you'd want to share with her how you feel about, say, going back to work, or starting therapy, or the shape of your fears and anxieties and joys and successes. They're big things going on with (and within) you. And you want your sister to know her brother a bit better (at least as much as your mother now knows her son). Is there any desire more natural?

We're now Wednesday morning. I hope things went well at your sister's, last night. If you didn't tell her, don't worry too much, though; you'll know, and you'll feel, when the time is right. 8)

Love,
CJ

!!!yes!!! !!!yes!!! !!!yes!!!

I can't really say anything any better than all 3 of these gals, but I'll just add that I believe you add your sister to this you've added someone else who gives you unconditional love. You're her brother. One more person loving you, getting to understand you, and growing closer to you has got to be good or worth it, right?

I wish you luck in whatever you decide. Whatever you decide is the right decision. :)

p.s. Welcome back Dixie! We miss that Dixie wisdom! :) (--)

Thank you so much girls! I think your right, and I think it does bring us closer together.

Let me start but saying, what a day, that is all I can say. I rang me sister last night but she was very tired and so I couldn't go round last night so I said I'll go round this morning. So after a sleepless night I did, I then went to tell her but again like with my Mum I just couldn't get the words out.

I just kept saying over and over, right I’m not gay but since about the age of 5...that was that for about 10mins lol I kept asking her if she knew what I was gonna say and she said no.

I then said is there anything I could do which would make you hate me and never speak to me, she said no but I still couldn't tell her. In the end she said, oh shell I tell you what I think it is. I said yes and then she went do you...and then she couldn't say it lol So I said see it's hard isn't it, she said yeah, but finally she went do you wear girls clothes.

I said yeah and she said well why would you think that would bother me. I said I just don't want to lose you, and I nearly started crying again lol but she then said, well it doesn't matter it's not like your a murderer or anything :)

Then we just talked and I just told her I've been like it since about 5, and she said sod bottling that up :) I never showed her any pictures as it didn't seem right this time, but my Sister did open up to me a lot this afternoon too! Saying how she says things in her head sometimes but when she comes to say it she can't etc So that was that, then she said you cant go back to work until you've talked this out with someone.

So she then came down the Dr's with me and then I said about I NEED to see the councealer again and the Dr said she will try her best to get me another appointment, but that it would help if I told her what the topic was. So I then nearly told the Dr but just couldn't after about 5mins of saying I'm not gay but and not being able to say I dress up, my sister nearly told her but she said, aww you gotta tell her really.

The Dr then said ok, I think you cant go back to work yet. So I now have 3 weeks off in which time I am hopfully going to see the same councealer, if not the Dr said she would get me onto another group to help me.

Also, I have been having bloody noses for the past 5 years or so, and runny noses so I told the Dr this and I have to go to the Drs tomorrow to have a Blood check and clod thing cos the Dr said it could be that I have the early signs of a blood clod of something.

Woww, It’s just been too much for me today. I need to lie down. I also told my Sister about this place and she might check it out but I didn't give her the URL yet :)

Congrats on the guts to tell your sis the news! I am certain that this will bring you even closer. As Beauty said, this will give you even more unconditional love and you deserve it. Perhaps some of the strain will also whither as a result. I am no doctor, but might the nose bleeds be related to your worries (high blood pressrue)?

Well done Sophie.

You are so very, very brave Sophie. 8) You should speak to your counselor, and you should be checked for high BP, as I am here to tell you that the conflict and uncertainty you feel can definitely affect that. Did me, and I have only just avoided heart disease (I hope) as a result of getting treatment. Just keep on your current course Sophie. You are a real hero!! :)

Hey Sophie,

Confused seems to be a place that works well for you, I am not sure I would want to change that if I had the kind of success you have with it.

Some people just seem to have something others don't. :)

Love Darlene.

Sophie...

That is so cool! I hope your sister does come on here, we need more GGs to chat with :)

After bottling up for so long it must be great to be able to talk about it. I hope you get to see your counsellor soon, seems to me you are really sorted...just need to talk out what is going on in your head!

Good luck Sophie :)

If my Sister does come on here it would be confusing, cos she's called, wait for it... Lorna Taylor :) Well, nearly, she is engaged and when she gets married she will be :)

Anyways, I think she better see photos of Sophie first before I give her this url :) I even told my Dr about this place lol

Hey there,

I missed this one! :)

Congrats to you !!!! We all knew since you had a great mom and since you are a great person that this was an easy one to see acceptance coming from your sister. Thank goodness we didn't have to say it though. We would have been just like you were at the beginning of your convo.

"First.. Sophie is not gay." (minutes of silence) "Ok, so.. we've established she's not gay, right? Not that there's anything wrong with that." (minutes of silence). "Ok, so where were we?" :)

Great job Sophie!!! As you can see. We are so proud oooof you!!!

Hi Sophie,

Just thought I'd add my comments. I came out to my sister-in law over a year ago. I don't know why, it just seemed to come out. She has always been extremely close and it always bothered me that I had this dark secret I could not tell her. I guess it boiled down to wanting to be honest with her and I suspect that is why you want to tell your sister. For me it went well, she was glad that I felt I could confide in her and she mentioned that she had a feeling that there was something I was keeping from her. A woman's intuition? ......Had to have been, I thought I hid it rather well! I hope it turns out as well for you.

Sophie , I m so happy for you, I thought she may not be bothered. So very proud of you, what a day you had. Hope you get your blood clot thing straightened out , at least it's only nose bleeds, could be alot of different things, just even dry weather will do that. Congratulations.!!!!!!! This must be a big monkey off your back. ........Kristen
