After a year and a half, I'm now becoming more selective.

Today was my birthday and after my wife and I went out for breakfast, we looked for clothes for both of us and didn't find any we bought. New York state and Erie county have a sales tax holiday that ends tomorrow, but a couple of mall stores, including one with clearance racks of items under $2 didn't yield anything that came home with us. A stop at the thrift store where we found my red satin bridesmaid dress before turned up nothing, either. It was fun looking, anyway.

My wife gave me a femme birthday gift, a set of 3 silvertone chains of different lengths. I'm wearing them now.

In addition, I'm wearing a dark navy short sleeve Jessica Howard dress with a small white geometric print with the hemline a couple of inches above my knees, poufed out by my white petticoat - the white lace is just peeking out the hem of the dress. My off black National support stockings have reinforced heel and toe. My shoes are dark navy pumps with 2 inch heels. My accessories, besides the 3 new chains, are 3 silvertone bracelets, silvertone clip earrings with dangly hearts, and my bleached blonde wig.

Underneath, black longline bra, black waist cincher, black OBG, miny green satin panties, black lacy full slip

Sitting here at the computer today I am wearing a long ankle length Denim skirt with a beige pleated strapless top. my underwear are white lace panties with a white padded lace bra and beige holdups. I am wearing beige ankle boots and my jewelery is a slim gold watch with a diamond studded ring and slim bracelet,

Makeup is very basic, just some light red lip gloss, foundation and black mascara my eye shadow is a light brown with white eyeliner

Your outfit sounds fun ("virginal" white undies, eh? Hmmm. ). I also own denim skirts (a Tommy Hilfiger mid-thigh length, front-zippered one being my favourite).

Today's still a little early for me to be dressed up (or perhaps I'm just in a lazy Sunday morning kind of mood); I'm only wearing a knee-length jade green nightgown and pantyhose. Oh, and my plush, pink bunny slippers. Going back to boy mode later to watch the Super Bowl game with colleagues (might keep the pantyhose on, though... ).

Both the outfits you described soud really good. You do more with makeup than me, but then my supportive wife doesn't use it, and I find the time to apply/remove cuts into my internet time (but I still try once in a while).

I haven't worn pantyhose/stockings with a nightgown for a while, but that's just my own wardrobe choice, and you're in a colder area. I attended college in the early 70's in Plattsburgh, NY 60 miles to the south of Montreal so I got a taste of that kind of climate.


Tonight, I'm just in male mode, came home after work, had dinner, fell asleep, then woke up and on to the internet. On Sunday, there was a first - my wife wore one of MY dresses to church, 2 piece gray floral long sleeves, long (on her much shorter legs) skirt. She said she wasn't used to not having pockets. She got several compliments on it.

Well, right now, it's late so I'm in, how shall I put it? I'm in "boudoir" mode. Black lace bra and matching panties, black satin-paneled waist cincher with six garters, black seamed stockings, and black patent leather pumps with 4" heels. I'm also wearing a sheer black nylon négligée and a matching floor-length peignoir with ruffles at the sleeves, neckline and hem. I've also put on my face (I hadn't done makeup and hair in a couple of weeks, at least). And, yes, the blinds are drawn.

I just wish I still had my dinky webcam. Still need to get myself a true digital camera. (sigh)

I sleep in just a nightgown (no panties), but that's just my personal choice and my loving supporting wife approves. Other forum members wear various lingerie/hosiery combos to bed.

When it comes to hosiery, are you usually a garter girl? When I dress up for a few hours (around the house only) I rarely wear pantyhose - putting on the girdle/garter belt and stockings and then ataching the garters is one of my enjoyments of getting dressed femme.

I haven't bought any Delta Burke lingerie yet, but the catalog pictures look tempting.


Tonight I'm wearing a new 2 piece dress my wife helped me choose from a thrift shop this afternoon. I'm certainly dressed for Spring in this silky, shimmery bold blue, green, pink floral outfit. It has long sleeves, a high neckline, and the top has a tie at the hem on the left side. The relatively narrow skirt is knee length - not bad for $8. My stockings are Hanes little color sandalfoot, shoes are white pumps with 2 inch heels. My necklace is pale pink beads, heart shaped clip earrings which have alternating clear and yellow stones, red elastic bracelet, silvertone bracelet, and my wig is the short curly ash blonde one.

Underneath, a beige full slip, beige 18 hour bra with rice filled knee high cheapo breast forms, white waist cincher, beige OBG, blue nylon Vanity Fair panties.

You have a nice wardrobe (that dress sounds beautiful and red/pink are among my favorite colors), and REAL hair - mine is pretty much gone, so I make do with a couple of wigs.

I haven't really tried the elastic garters, but I love my girdles, garter belt, and corset.

By the way, when I was referring to an OBG, that stands for Open Bottom Girdle

I like the hug of control garments ( I dress for only a few hours at a time), and quite often wear a longline posture bra and a boned waist cincher to keep it from riding up.

I prefer satin or nylon panties over cotton (my wife's favorite, but she wears them all the time). Some of the panties are floral print.

I'm fortunate with shoes - a woman's 10 wide fits and they are readily available. I go with lower heels, max 2 inch for now. 4 of my 7 pairs of shoes (all pumps) I got from Kmart when they go on sale for $5. My other 3 pairs came from Old Pueblo Traders and by getting closeouts, never went over $15 for a pair (so far).


Tonight, I'm wearing a short sleeved blue floral eyelet knit dress with hem just below my knees, navy blue stockings, navy pumps with 2 inch heels, a strand of pearls around my neck, matching bracelet on one wrist (bought the set, with pierced earrings at Kmart a while back - she loves the earrings and lets me borrow the rest of the set), a silvertone watch and silvertone initial bracelet on the other wrist, dangling fake pearl clip earrings, and my midlength bleached blonde wig.

Underneath, I'm a real layering queen tonight. First, because of the eyelet dress small holes, I'm wearing a lacy black full sweep full slip. Underneath that, black longline posture bra, black boned waist cincher, my white front lacing corset with 6 garters (I'm sitting up straight ), and not one, but TWO petticoats (my wife asked me if I was Scarlett O'Hara ).
My panties are black satin briefs with a floral applique.

I'm taking advantage of the lower temps (and thermostat) to get my layering in.

this evening I am just casual, pair of black panyhose, tight black lycra crop top with a nice black lace bra - underwired. black lace panties with a nice pair of VERY tight blac skin tight jeans with silver studs down the side and a comfy pair of pumps.

basic jeweley, watch, bracelet and nice diamond ring.

makeup is simple, basic black mascara, beige eye shadow and eyeliner and a little lip gloss to show the true colour of my lips

just something simple to relax in

The purple shimmery dress sounds beautiful.

I have 3 open bottom pull-on girdles (all from National), 2 Crownette strech lace and One Cortland Foundations with 6 garters. The front lacing corset is a Cortland Foundations Venus (very plain and white) from Old Pueblo Traders and I have to pad out hips/rear (currently use foam rubber packing between 2 pairs of panties) because the corset is too big in this area. The corset was around $55 - the most expensive femme item I have bought (so far).

My stockings are either Hanes or National. I inherited my mother's varicose veins so I have several pairs of support stockings.

I started a petticoat thread in this subforum and describe my 2 there. The Cliff's notes version - a 22 inch Malco Modes soft white one and a 26 inch black net one from PettiPond that is fuller and a bit scratchy without a liner (half slip, full slip, or for the skirt full and long enough, the soft white petticoat). If I bought another Malco Modes petti, I would probably go for pettipants, too.


I don't really do makeup very often, but I will try.

Tonight I fell asleep right after dinner and I'm in male mode, but I'll try to do better next time. It's been a while since I posted here and I just wanted to reply to the other posters on the thread.

This past week i bought a new garter belt and stockings, So when I had some free time last night...
I put on my new lingerie and a padded bra (No breastforms yet) I was wearing a new dress (gift from my SO ) black, above the knee, with sheer sleeves. No fancy name tag, but i like it.
With kids sleeping down the hall, I dared not venture past the locked door of my bedroom, but it felt good just to be me.

I spent Valentines Day in male mode, but my wife and I did some shopping together at a thrift store and elsewhere and we each have new things to try on. I'll try to report tomorrow.

Hi, all

I hope everyone had a good Valentines Day. My wife is diabetic, and I gave her her favorite sugarless chocolates and a pair of earrings. She gave me some Godiva truffles and a music CD - Elvis 2nd to none.

We also went to dinner at our favorite buffet - it was crowded due to free meals given to each couple married 50 years or more (24 more years for us).

After dinner, we went next door to the Avenue store. My wife doesn't really like clothes shopping, but she likes Avenue. A look through the clearance racks yielded 3 tops for $20 - one (blue twin-set look) went really well with a ruffled blue floral skirt from an earlier visit (I wear it more often than she does ). The same style and color skirt was still there so matching up was easy.

Before dinner, we stopped at the nearby thrift store. We spent $15 there for 2 books and 3 dresses. She picked out 1 for herself - almost floor length black turtleneck with long sleeves and a small green and red holly/mistletoe print (she's set for next Christmas church/parties). She picked out2 silky dresses for me - in 2 colors I didn't have before. We spent $15 for all of them.

I posted the last couple of times that I was in male mode, and tonight I think I AM doing better. I'm wearing one of the dresses my wife picked out for me and I'm feeling really elegant. It is high necked long sleeved (roomy sleeves), has a somewhat tight skirt with hem just below my knees with a ruffle going down the left side. It's lined yellow silk and feels beautiful. When I put it on, I looked at the label and it's a real designer name - I think I'll get my $4 worth of enjoyment from it.

My stockings are wood beige National support stockings with reinforced hell & toe, my shoes are my white pumps, clip earrings are small gold hoops, necklace a gold/silver snake chain, goldtone watch and goldtone/colored enamel bangle bracelet, wig is midlength bleached blonde.

Underneath, I'm all in white - lacy full slip, longline posture bra, boned waist cincher, 6 garter open botton girdle, white satin panties.

My gold purse is right by my side, and if I was made up, I'd be ready to attend a wedding/reception or other formal occasion.

I read your chronicles and I think I read almost all of your other posts. my heart goes out to you.

My wife is about 9 inches shorter than me, but her legs and arms are much shorter and that's the main difference. I am skinnier in some places than she is, so some of her castoffs that no longer fit her fit me OK

I grew up in a rural place in the Catskills 75 miles north of New York City and until I was high school age trips into town (over 12 miles to either of 2 towns) were only once every week or 2 except for the long school bus rides. I've lived near Buffalo, NY for over 28 years, been married for almost 26 1/2, no children.

Even though this area does have a slowly declining population, there are lots of shopping opportunities within a reasonable driving radius.

I'm glad that for you, dressing up as Julie helps ease you through the down times. Your outfit sounds really nice - ruffles, tasteful jewelry (I have 2 pairs of screwback earrings inherited from my mother and they were inconvenient so I rarely wear them), and nice lingerie.


Last night, my outfit was along the line of mother of the bride. Tonight, I'm more like a secoond marriage afternoon bride. The dress is white, high necked with 3/4 sleeves, and the full pleated skirt is about midcalf - the skirt is full enough to accomodate both of my petticoats. I'm wearing white Hanes sandalfoot stockings and navy blue pumps. My necklace is pearl and gold beads, fake pearl dangly clip earrings, goldtone watch and a couple of bracelets, bleached blonde midlength wig. Underneath, I'm dressing mostly against type, white full slip, but black longline posture bra, black boned waist cincher, black open bottom girdle, dark purple satin panties. I passed up my white satin bustier this time.
