Wow! I've just been hit with this generation gap thing
. Am I turning into my grand mother? I had not realized how many girls out there don't like wearing a slip of any sort. While I would think the slip, be it full or half were more of a functional piece of under garment ( and feminine ) most of the younger generation seems to think of it more of a hindrence. Maybe I'm just old fashion, but I couldn't see leaving home without one. A really nice slip is getting harder to find lately.
Hugs,
Diana

Diannna, I think some is a generation gap, but some is also a fashion gap. So many of the skirts were coming lined and do not need a slip with them. Now they have started going the other way and people are not use to needing a slip.
Also for the more casual skirts they use to be thicker and did not need a slip for show through. but more recent fashions are light and thin and I think many should have a slip. But one generation has forgot about them and the other does not know about them.
As for me, I was out and about on Monday and it was cold and windy. So I put on two slips. So warm and comfortable.

Just trying keep a balance for my self along with keeping my wife and kids in mind.

slips
Slips are only the tip of the iceberg. Hardly any woman wear skirt. What is a CD to do to blend? Janet

Slips
I only have a couple of skirts/dresses with linnings so I wear slips quite regullarly. I was out and about a few weeks ago and was glad I was wearing one. I was in one of summer skirts stand outside the restraunt when a gust of wind blew my skirt up, it was almost to my waist before I caught it and pushed it back down. LOL
That is the second time that has happened, the other was at the gas station on very busy afternoon

I love the feel of a slip under a skirt/dress. I noticed the very small selection as I was shopping for one last week. I put it down to the Florida climate which could make one uncomfotable but it does get chilly down here. As a matter of fact many of the offices and stores can be down right cold from the A/C in summer.

One thing I have noticed with my GG friends is that if their mom wore slips, they tend to wear slips. My mom did and so I do. The better half's mom does and so the better half does. Heck, we share slips so that we can have the right length and color at the right time.
I tend to wear a slip even is a skirt is lined. The lined skirts tend to need to be dry cleaned. It's cheaper to wash a slip than the skirt. You can save a washing possibly if you wear the slip.

That seems to be the trend with skirts and dresses - make them with a lining which make slips redundant. I have both without linings so I still wear slips with them - two when its very cold as it has been recently.

Because nylon slips are so pretty and so very soft or sensual to touch they are ultimately feminine. I extensively wear nylon slips and panties and love them as underwear items. Linings on skirts and dresses although comfortable do not have the impact of removing outwear and exposing such a prtty and sexy item lingerie item underneath. There are many movie scenes that elaborate this point.
I appreciate that in hot weather nylon slips, especially full slips can be uncomfortable. In this circumastance I would also choose to wear pettipants instead.
