But here's the best part. We arrived home, and our babysitter (Our GG friend who knows about Kyra, but has never met her) was introduced to...Me! We sat and talked a few minutes before she had to leave. It was great!

Okay, We left the house with me en drabbe. I was able to dress at the meeting place. (Several did, I was surprised!) But when we left the meeting, we were both starving. So we went to Micky D's. We used the drive thru, only because we were in a rush to get home. I (surprisingly) didn't feel nervous about that.
But here's the best part. We arrived home, and our babysitter (Our GG friend who knows about Kyra, but has never met her) was introduced to...Me! We sat and talked a few minutes before she had to leave. It was great!

Great going girl! I'm happy for you that you took this momentous step. Fighting through the inevitable fear and nervousness was worth it, and it sounds like it you really got a lot of confidence out of the experience. Do you have any further plans for going out?
By the way, it's great that your wife was so supportive and could share in the whole experience. ( I haven't been able to share any of my feelings with my wife unfortunately.) I remember being on a kind of "high" for two or three days after my first outing. And it made me determined to continue. Please keep us updated on your outings.
