BEAUTIFUL SON Lyrics
Artist(Band):Hole
You look good in my dress
I'll get your friends to clean the mess
You look good in my clothes
I can feel you where the doctor goes
My beautiful son
I know
He had ribbons in his hair
And lipstick was everywhere
You look good in my dress
My beautiful son
I know
You're burried like me
You're burried
I know
My beautiful son

Uneasy Rider '88 by The Charlie Daniels Band. It's about a couple of ol' boys that find themselves in a bar that caters to a lifestyle they aren't used to...

"He looked like a girl but he talked like a guy
He had lipstick on and mascara in his eyes
And everybody in that place looked just about like him
I said, 'Jim this ain't our kind of bar
Let's just go on out and get back in the car
'Cause there's gonna be trouble
Ain't no sense in taking a chance'
We was getting up, getting ready to leave
When somebody grabbed old Jim by the sleeve
And this good looking girl was asking my buddy to dance"

Adriana Lima and I were born with each other's bodies. I hope someday this mistake can be reversed.

not exactly a flattering song about crossdressers/tgrs. I don't think charlie daniels is a fan of ours. :(

(Although the ORIGINAL "uneasy rider" was kinda fun - unless of course, you're a hillbilly.)

There's another song written by Bowie (since Rebel, Rebel was already mentioned), but performed by Mott the Hoople-- called All the Young Dudes.
There's a line: "Lucy looks sweet cos he's dressed like a queen"

And the Queen song Son and Daughter (written by Brian May). It's not necessarily about transvestites, but it could be...

"Tried to be a son and daughter rolled into one
You said you'd equal any man for having your fun
Now didn't you feel surprised to find the cap just didn't fit
The world expects a man to buckle down and shovel manure
What'll you do for lovin' when it's only just begun
I want you to be a woman.

Tried to be a teacher, and a fisher of men
An equal people preacher
Will you lead us all the same
Well, I travelled all round the world and found
A brand new word for day
Watching the time, mustn't linger behind
Pardon me, I have to get away
What'll you think of heaven
If it's back from where you came?
I want you to be a woman."

And, of course, we all remember their video "I Want to Break Free", where they dressed in fabulous drag.

This doesn't quite count as music, but does anybody remember the cover of the Stones' "Some Girls" album?

I always wondered what Burt Bacharach was trying to say when he sang I say a little prayer

The moment I wake up
Before I put on my makeup
I say a little prayer for you
While combing my hair, now
And wondering what dress to wear, now
I say a little prayer for you

I know other people sang it, but Burt Bacharach sang it too.
Irony can be pretty ironic sometimes

No one has hit on Bob River's "Walkin 'Round In Women's Underwear?" :D

"Lacey things your wife is missin'
Didn't ask for her permission

I'm wearin' her clothes, her silk panty hose
Walkin round' in women's underwear
In the store there's a teddy
with little straps like spaghetti
It holds me so tight like handcuffs at night
Walkin' round in women's underwear
"

The line in Gee Officer Krupke was

My sister wears a moustache, my brother wears a dress

Andrea
everything under the sun is in tune
but the sun is eclipsed by the moon

This one could be, I reckon:

Who We Are - Hope Partlow

I don't wanna put on my make up
Just like every girl in a magazine
That's not who i am when i wake up
That's not who i wanna be

There's so much more to me than
Meets the eye
In this life
I know one thing

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are
Who we are

Tell me baby do I look like the real thing
Or would you change the color of my eyes
Tell me why my television's filling me with lies

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are

There is beauty on the inside
Yeah you're beautiful
All right!

Though it doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare
Cuz we are who we are who we are who we are
It doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are

It doesn't really matter what you wear
Let the people stare (it's good to be alive good to be alive)
Doesn't really matter what car you drive
It's good to be alive (who we are)
Yeah we are who we are who we are who we are
who we are (it's good to be alive good to be alive)

When we are who we are

The Kinks
Out of the Wardrobe
by R. D. Davies

Has anybody here seen a chick called Dick
He looks real burly but he's really hip
He's six feet tall and his arms are all brown and hairy
He married Betty Lou back in '65
when you had to be butch to survive
But lately he's been looking at his wife with mixed emotions
You see, he's not a common place closet queen
He shouldn't be hidden, he should be seen
'cos when he puts on that dress
He looks like a princess
Well, the day he came out of the wardrobe
Betty Lou got quite a surprise
She didn't know whether she should get angry or not bat an eye
She really couldn't call up her mama
Mama would positively die
Should she go or stay or should she try to get a trial separation
You see, he's not a faggot as you might suppose
He just feels restricted in conventional clothes
'cos when he puts on that dress, he feels like a princess
He's not a dandy, he's only living out a fantasy
He's not a pansy, he's only being what he wants to be
Now his life is rearranged and he's grateful for the change
He's out of the wardrobe and now he's got no regrets
Betty Lou didn't know what to do at first
But she's learning to cope at last
She got the best of both worlds
And she's really in a state of elation
She says that it helps their relationship
She says a change is as good as a rest
And their friends are finally coming 'round to their way of thinking
She wears the trousers and smokes a pipe
And he washes up
She helps him wipe

a little blue grass here

Post by Eva »

Hi
Was listening to the Nashville Bluegrass Band tonight, heard this in "Biggest Liars in Town."

"You can call up my mama, you can talk to my daddy too,
they'll tell you everything you want about the way I used to do.
They might tell you bout my Navy days, they might tell you bout my youth.
Anything they tell you, you can take if for the truth.
They might tell you about the time i was dressed in a woman's gown,
but if they tell you I don't love you , they are the biggest liars in town.

Richard & Linda Thompson's Hookey Pokey (The Ice- Cream Song) which is also the album title makes a reference to crossdressing.
