Good Day -
My maiden name is Storm and I've been Stormy all my life! I'm relatively new to the CD aspect of life but have embraced it and my wonderful new girlfriend. We've been married for almost 9 years and I found out about his hobby (his word) by accident and secretly so I had time to digest and consider how I felt before I talked to him. We've been having great fun ever since!
I am a paralegal for a major credit card company and enjoy my work. I love to travel, enjoy photography, reading, and am dabbling in crafts. Currently I'm learning how to etch glass.
Together we enjoy all aspects of our life.
I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you.

Hello, Stormy - - and a huge welcome to the Forum - and to your CD, Melyssa Anne, also!!
Okay - you and I have many similarities, and you've got my Crafter's Gene twitching: what crafts do you do, besides learning how to etch glass (which is something I'd like to do)??

Ah, crafting...
SL -
I never thought of myself as being a craft person. It started with photography and creating collages of vacations - then my dh matted and framed them and that was very gratifying. I took a photoshop class and then made scrapbooks for myself and family. I'm working on our wedding pics since they were developed wrong and the color is terrible. I'm doing them in b/w with color additives - like my corsage and his boutineer (sp?). I made our Christmas cards two years ago and when most of dh's family copied the crafted cards I moved on to flower arranging and glass etching. Glass etching is stinky but fun <G>!! I'm making bowls for all the girls in our group. We live on a golf course and there are five couples that pal around together. I can't knit to save my soul and once I master glass etching I'd like to do shadow boxes.....always something to keep me out of too much trouble.
What crafts do you like to do? I'll bet we can help each other!!
A pleasure....

Hi Stormy,
to the forum!

Great to hear how you thought things over before confronting him, and that you've been having fun with it.Stormy(SO) wrote:I found out about his hobby (his word) by accident and secretly so I had time to digest and consider how I felt before I talked to him. We've been having great fun ever since!

Donna....
Thank you.
We were with another couple who had won a package for four for a golfing weekend. DH always likes to unpack and put everything away at whatever hotel/motel we're staying at. DH and his friend had dropped myself and friend's wife at the resort and then they went out to golf. K and I took all the luggage to our rooms and unpacked and then we were going to meet up later for dinner. I unpacked and came to an unusal looking suitcase that I didn't recognize. I opened it to unpack it and wasn't sure what I was looking at. Really cute bra's (I was instantly jealous), skirts, tops, an old blouse of mine and now I was totally bewildered until I got to the shoes - only DH would wear a size 10 slide <G>!! So I put everything back in that suitcase and just left it on the floor with his computer "stuff". Not a word was said but my heart was racing and I really knew I needed time to think. That was in mid-August.
For Halloween we'd agreed we would dress and go out on the town. DH was Mae West and I was WC Fields....we'll have to post a pic!! He looked divine! After dancing the night away and on the way home I told him I knew and really wanted to know why, when etc. He did very well and we talked late into the night about how it all began, what it means to him and to me and how grateful he was that he no longer had to keep secrets. I too felt better because I had reverted to a "secret smoker" and now that was out in the open as well with promises from each that we would not keep any secrets from each other.
Last weekend was huge! Melyssa and I went out of town (to minimize risk of running in to anyone we know) and shopped the weekend! Melyssa's first big hurdle was the bathroom since we both had to go as soon as we got to the mall. Women definitely check you out in the bathroom and poor Melyssa was soooo worried and did beautifully! I keep telling her that it's illusion - if it looks like a duck and walks like a duck, it must be a duck!! Her make-up was perfect, she wore sweats and gym shoes with a darling chamisole, her jewelry was great and she had a marvelous time! We went out to dinner and again she was fantastic. Another mall on Sunday and she's still in shock and awe that she did so well. I'll let her post and tell you more about it from her persepctive.
So yes, we're having fun!

Welcome Stormy. Nice to have you here. It sounds like you have it together and that's great. I look forward to hearing more about you and Melyssa.
As for that SilverLady, her 'crafter's gene' leans more towards her being a crafty old bird so you'd better watch out for her.
She knows I'm just kidding of course. Luv ya SL.
Anyway, have fun and if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. We have lots of friendly folks here only too willing to make you both feel right at home.

Thank you Stephanie. Be sure to read Melyssa's post - she went out alone today! She had a blast and we met for dinner!
I just can't help it - I'm very lucky that I found out by accident and was able to process the information, examine how I felt and have a rebellious streak that makes me just love Melyssa!! I was able to tell her that I knew and that it was ok......I think I'm still euphoric about having a sister, best friend, and husband all rolled in to one!!

SW - Yes, my friend, I do know that you are kidding. . . but just remember that you are a few years older than me, so you are the "old bird", not I!!
Stormy - My crafter's gene leans towards OneStroke painting (on various surfaces), although I also enjoy creating fabric decoupage plates & bowls, counted cross stitch, shirt painting, decorative painting, stenciling, beading, jewelry making, silk flower arrangements, plastic canvas, general arts & crafts projects, crochet, knitting, and photography (35mm and digital). I would like to learn how to quilt, as well as scrapbooking - - I've got the supplies for both but not the time!!
