Nothing. :P

Well, I wanted to. I was in Target this morning and came across some nice looking peasant blouses (elastic in the sleeve and the cowling) in the maternity section. Yes maternity. My belly can fit. Well, it could, but I've lost about 18 lbs since may. I digress.

I went to look at some other things and got a call on my cell from the doctor's office asking if I could come in early. My appointment was for 11am and they called at 9:30. I said sure, so I left empty handed.

Oh well, there's always tomorrow, or tonight if I get off early enough.

SilverLady(SO)........I plan to do that. Since I am part American Indian, I don't have a lot of hair on my legs, chest, face, or arms anyway. When I shave my legs using shaving cream I can go almost a week without shaving again. I suppect that these products will not be for everyone. Noting that, any results I get will be for me only, but I will post my findings in the Beauty section.

Ah! It was good at Goodwill today!!!

Two very nice lined, creme colored skirts, one slightly above the knee the other just below the knee; a cute, print, underwire bra; a spaghetti strap, ankle length night gown; and the coup de gras, a black, light weight, mid-calf length, button up "duster." It is very dressy, long sleeves, to be worn over a sleeveless dress in a semi-formal setting; not sure what it is called, but it is very nice! My style, "conservatively sexy!" Oh, four pair of pantyhose for $1.00 each. Packages were beat-up but retail price on packs was $6.99.

Shop on ladies!!!

I did make it by Target again yesterday and along with the peasant blouse, found a nice wide brown elastic belt and some earrings.

Also got a new gel seat for my bike and a pump for the tires. Time to pull it out of the shed again.

It was a GOOD day!!!! That little voice said "Goodwill" and off I went. A white mini-slip; three pair of panty hose; a black, floor length jumper with "sexy" side slits to the knee, and the coup de gras! We all look for that little black dress!! - found it!! It is awesome! Actually it is kinda short, but Oh so sexy! It is a black with light gray, silver flowers, very subtle, 3/4 see-through bell sleeves, ruffled collar, lined, and did I mention it is short, well, I may get by with shooting pool if I am very lady-like! I have a black cover/dress jacket that comes to the knees that is a black on black stripped see-through that I put on over the mini-dress and BAM!!!!! what an outfit!

With black panty hose and black heels! WOW!

Dress and jacket = $7.00, hose $1.00 and shoes ???

Can't wait for the NC TG dance and banquet in August!

I had to go to town on Friday to make a delivery and my wife said to take the day to myself. And wow the stores had lots of sales going on with the holiday weekend plus a lot of their summer fashions on final clearance. Like 60% off the already clearance prices. I was able to not come home with too much. Even though a lot was tempting me. My haul was two tank tops with lace trim great for layering or a cami. A body shaper. And a half a dozen of the heavier trouser socks that I wear for daily wear. The best part was just being out and about for the day.

Buying from on line retailers

Post by Kendra Lynn »

Hello all and happy LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!
Got a nice jacket, and a few nice skirts at OLD NAVY. Since the closest branch is in a shopping mall generally filled with teenagers and young men, I have not yet visited it "en femme."
Also bought cute "Steve Madden" "sweater boots" (complete with pompons) and a nice "faux shearling" coat at BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY (downtown Silver Spring), a great discount outlet. I have gone there "en femme," but must be careful when. I will say that several of the staff have been very helpful to me and I don't forget things like that. GAP OUTLET in old town Alexandria has been good as well, and I'm usually there "en femme" since it is just a block from HOLLYWOOD FASHION WIGS.

But MOST of my recent purchases have come from web sites operated by OLD NAVY, AMERIMARK, AVENUE, and JESSICA LONDON. The D.C. area summer weather has been too warm for this pedestrian to be walking around "en femme," that's one reason why most of the shopping has been done by calling the toll free numbers associated with these web sites.
The phone order takers have generally been pleasant and courteous.
All of those retailers offer at least a few skirts and dresses that are knee length or so which generally is my preference. But I do have the legs for shorter skirts and do own more than a few "A line" above the knee skirts.
Really long skirts and dresses just don't seen to work well for me, and besides-- the shorter ones are FUN!!

Specific purchases: jumpers from OLD NAVY, dresses and skirts from AMERIMARK, denim shirtdress and embellished jacket from AVENUE, denim shirtdress and jean jackets in several colors from JESSICA LONDON.

Irony-- I'm still sort of a 60's head-- card carrying member of the GREEN party and such. So one might think I'd go for a hippie sort of look. But a lot of that stuff (crinkle skirts, etc. etc.) doesn't look good on me. So I've been going less to the vintage stores and dealing more with conventional retailers such as those mentioned above.

Got really good box pleat skirts from the uniform company FLYNN & O'HARA. Also plain white oxford style shirts/blouses.
But I'll accent the preppy/school girl/nice girl ensembles with hippie style accessories-- peace sign pendant, peace sign earrings, ponchos. The one preppy/hippie blend that does work is a pleasant blouse with a plaid pleated skirt. I got that idea from a 1969 summer camp photo of a girl wearing that exact look. And ponchos ARE really cute over cheerleader outfits!!

WHY IS CDing (and the related shopping) so much fun??

Some times I think that my CDing is frivolous and I should be spending my time and resources on more... er... constructive activities. But everyone needs a release and this appears to be mine. One of my quests is to integrate my CDing with other activities and interests. ("Hippie cheerleader" attends peace and environmental marches/protests, for example).

Peace'n'Luv-- Kendra Lynn ("hippie cheerleader").

Hmmmm . . . I didn't know one needed a reason to buy something, especially a matching red bra and panties! Guess Carol Ann will need to buy a sexy outfit to complement the bra and panties, and I can hear her now: 'Oh, honey, I have to go shopping again, there's something that I forgot to buy yesterday!!!'

On Monday (Labor Day) my wife and I went to 2 thrift stores - the 2nd, Amvets had everything 50% off and a huge checkout line, even though all 4 registers were open. We didn't find anything there we liked.

The first thrift store changed affiliations from A Plus Bargains back to Buffalo City Mission and they we bought a large piece of nylon net (for my wife's church craft projects) and 2 dresses for me - a blue tea length bridesmaid dress and a short sleeve long pink floral dress.

This afternoon, I received my order from Blair, including for my wife:

a blue embroidered pants set; 2 different butterfly print tops, a teal skirt with pockets and a belt; and for Christmas time, a Nativity print sweatshirt.

We also got a Christmas gift for one sister in law, a reversible quilt with a Christmas/winter theme on one side (she goes for that kind of stuff and the price was right).

I got three things for myself: A pink skirt the same style as I got for my wife, a pink floral top, and A front close Fully bra (for that 50's look).
