Wearing more women's clothing

Post by Julie Miller »

It's official, I've gone from collecting women's clothing to wearing women clothing.

I am now dressing in women's clothing about 3/4 of the time, although when it comes to sleep wear and underwear (bras, etc) it is 100% of the time.

My male wardrobe is limited to the few suits, shirts and coats I wear to work and a few casual items, although all my jeans, pants and almost all of my tops are women's as well.

I have given away nearly all my male clothing, most days I have no option but to wear women's wear.

I have extended my crossdressing to include women's shoes, jackets, coats etc. I wear some jewelry without being flashy. I sometimes wear makeup.

The process has been with my wife's understanding, has been gradual and there's no going back.

Bravo, Julie. It sounds like you've broken the cycle of conformance and are being true to your own tastes in clothing. Doing so with full support makes it even more special! That certainly seems to be the direction I'm headed as well, and I do adore my growing wardrobe. I am finding it harder to find flattering tops than skirts and pants though. I'm sure with time I'll have a better eye for shirts and blouses that I'll love wearing.

Are you finding that you need far more options than you used to require in men's clothing? I'd never think twice about wearing the same pair of casual men's shoes with every single pair of men's pants I owned - but I just can't do it with women's wear! Suddenly I need an array of style and colors to go with whatever I'm wearing. The same is true for socks, belts, etc. I can't decide whether it's by design, because I tend to dress up more, or because I just didn't like my male clothing enough to care.

Yes, tops are tough. Shirts and blouses are almost always just a bit too short and plus sizes are mostly too wide, but I'm learning. Pants are easy and I've had luck with shoes.
It's taken awhile to get used to open throat shirts (to show one's necklace) and 3/4 sleeves (to show bracelets, rings and other jewelry)

Shoes definitely don't seem to be a problem, unless we're talking about trying to control my compulsion to buy every cute pair I see on sale. :) I do need to find more practical every-day shoes but I have begun to take more of my shoe collection out of the closet and out on the town.

In particular, I bought myself a nice pair of soft leather boots last year for Christmas that have quite a heel on them. I hadn't worn them out of the house all year, but this holiday I finally wore them out shopping. (Of course it helped that my wife went with me to pick out another pair of unequivocally feminine boots for a fancy dinner out a few days before. They're so adorable that I haven't worn much of else for the past week!)

I love the open-necked style and 3/4 sleeves, but they're both in the less-than-flattering category at the moment. Too much dark arm and chest hair, both of which are correctable buy my wife hasn't warmed up to the idea just yet. She's so wonderful about so many other things that I don't mind cutting her a little slack here. (--)

I am finding the same as you Julie, that i am wearing more and more ladies clothes all the time.
I have only one suit left that i wear on very limited occasions when i Have to. I now feel more comfortable in a nice Skirt and top, or skirt suit, than I do in a mans suit.
As for Sleep wear and undergarments, i am now wearing femme clothing basically 24/7 and wear Ladies slacks, tops, and jeans, now about 80% of the time. where I am working now, I can wear Ladies slacks and jeans, with no comments.
I guess if I made one, my New Years Resolution would be to purge my male clothing as much as possible, and only keep enough around for necessary functions.

Happy New Year every one

Isn't nice when you finally decide to stop conforming and wear what you feel best in. I have also been wearing womans pants, skirts, sleepwear. I have not worn mens underwear in a very long time.

After I told my wife about my fem side, she started letting me wear ladies T-shirts, shorts, and sandals last summer. They are somewhat Unisex looking. I also wore panties under the shorts. In fact she asked me one day why I wore socks when I went to my nail salon, since everyone there would see my polished toes anyway. So all this past summer on weekends, I would be dressed this way. One Saturday after I had gone to my nail salon, we need to goto Walmart. We were in the store for a while, when I happen to look down at my feet. I had not worn socks to the nail salon and there were my bare feet with my newly polished toes showing. Too late to do anything about it, wife did not seem to notice, so I just carried on as usual. No one else seem to notice my toes either. I went all day with socks.
I too am starting to wear more fem clothing outside. Wife has now said it is OK as long as they are not too fem looking. I think she is starting to notice that most people don't care what I am wearing as long as I am not flaunting it. I even got a PINK robe, PINK Satin PJ's, and PINK pair of fuzzy slippers for Christmas.

You are so right, people are self absorbed. (Aren't we?) That's why I am getting increasingly comfortable wearing women's clothing.

By the way, just had my nails done and a pedicure. My wife smiled when she realized my toes and her fingers were done in the same shade, albeit by different nail techs.

I found some great side zip pants that I can wear to work.
