well I have not worn one to the beach, I rarely go to the beach. But many times I've worn them at the pool in hotels, not exactly public but there were enough other people around. As I said, I always wear a style with a skirt so don't run the risk of displaying anything. Nobody has ever really said anything about it.
One time I was in the hot tub and a couple of younger ladies, maybe 18-25 range, started talking to me. It seemed like they were trying to figure me out without being direct. So I got right to the point and told them I had been out shopping for dressed but coudn't find anything I liked, and started telling them where the sales were in town. I don't know what they decided to think, but we had a nice talk for a while about fashions and shopping :)
Yesterday I was shopping for a new swimsuit, they are all on sale now. There are some that I really like, but as they don't have skirts I passed on them. I haven't bought myself a new one in a few years, so I really would like a new one.

"Swimming costumes" sounds kinda funny to me. Most often I hear them called swim suits, bathing suits or something similar. I have a number of them, from the bikinis and tankinis I wear in my pool to the swimskirts I wear at the beach. Theres not any extra attention drawn to you by wearing a one-piece suit as its quite common....and for us a swim skirt is probably best to hide any....ahemmm...you know. [-X I've worn mine at hotel pools, hot tubs (spas) and on the beach with no problem (bikinis are out!!!!!) Theres still a few pics of me in my gallery...younger and cuter [-o< I've been known to wear a dress in the pool...my SO loves it. \:D/ So thats my 2 cents...enjoy and wear whatever looks best and discrete :)
Hugs all

I have quite a few bikini bottoms that double as underwear. I also have one piece suits in both std and thong backed, pretzel suit, a couple of bikini tops that can go with most of my bottoms. A couple of complete bikinis and a swim skirt set. Unfortunately I have not worn any to the pool or Hot springs but a couple pair of ladies swim shorts I have.

how coincidental that this came up again right now. I was just with some friends of mine at a hotel in Chippewa Falls, WI and I had bought a nice new one-piece suit earlier yesterday. Funny thing, there was one lady in the hot tub when we came in, and evidently she was giving me the evil eye - I didn't notice but my friend did and she stationed herself between us - she is so awesome!!!! (this is my friend who is the Mary Kay consultant, incidentally)
Nobody else in the place cared ( maybe not even noticed) but the hot tub lady left in protest - too bad for her as it left the place to us lol!!
But this is what I find so hilarious, if I'd worn a speedo that covered almost nothing it would have been fine, but to wear something that also covered my chest is not fine. Completely crazy!!!!!

It was getting well into the summer this year when I saw a photo on another website of a CDer wearing a one-piece swimsuit on a beach. It's something I'd wanted to wear for a very long time so I went shopping online and found an excellent Jasper Conran swimsuit with a halter neck which has a knot at the mid-point (which can be untied so you can adjust it if it feels a bit loose (or tight). It was too late to book myself in to anywhere that I could sit outside in it in the sun, or go for a dip in a pool but I enjoyed a few weekend afternoons lounging on the sofa in it as the sun shone in. Who knows what opportunities next summer may bring?

KT tape... (as advised by my therapist)

I have not used it yet but I did buy one pack incase I need it. Its elastic and waterproof, so it should be a perfect insurance option to prevent accidents.

I have both a one piece and two piece swim suite. I have no body shape for the two piece so I don't wear that in public, however I did swim a couple of times in the public pool and hotel, among some CIS people. I do carry with me shorts as a emergency cover up, just incase, but I have-not used it yet. As far as taping, I used the medical tape to cover the area after tucked it away. Although I am one year on HRT, it's mostly a dead area, so I don't have to worry to much anymore.

Problem is that once you start to swim the tape will let go... so that's why I will try the KT tape next time, as it is elastic and waterproof. I have the pink color one. :)

I have a few bikinis but love swim skirts. I even wear them around the house as normal skirts. I love the way they feel and the patteners they come in. But my favored of all is a zebra print bikini with a little skirt ruffle about 3in long. I have never wore them in public but I do were them in the run or shower sometimes.
