Thanks again everyone for being so welcoming and sorry about the delay responding. We're both in the process of starting new jobs and we got a puppy (

) so I've been kind of wrapped up in that. Things are going well, although I will say some days are more confusing than others, but I'm working on making baby steps. Just reading through the threads here has been super helpful though, so I'm ecstatic to have this as a form of support. Thanks again everyone!

WOW, did I say WOW. two new jobs, a puppy in the middle, and working through being with a cder. I would say you both have servering platters full to deal with. Keep up the communication, communication, communication., and you will all get through it.

Welcome to a wonderful place. In a way it's been a long time since I have been back to this site and I have missed it and missed it a lot. I have been a member of this forum for a several years and I have come back to this forum many times and have always found it to be as if I have come back home after being away. I too am from the Chicago area and it's nice to see someone else local on here. I don't know if you have looked into any of the many Chicago land Groups that support the transgendered community in the area or not. Some groups and organizations are more supportive of the CD yet there are a number of groups that are in support of the whole family specially the wives and SO's of CD's. If you're interested let me know and I can put you onto some that I know of. Otherwise I am sure you can find out a lot and and receive just about all the help and information you may need right here on this forum. Again welcome to the group and like the others have said it is always nice to hear from someone with an open mind and willingness to at least check things out.
