What's the typical woman's opinion about crossdressers?

A 'round table' for CDs, TGs and GG/SOs to talk with each other. We're all in this together, so let's make the most of it.

That's a very good question! It's funny, about 2 years ago, before I got involved with my guy, I didn't think of crossdressers as any different from drag queens. I was ignorant and never really HAD to think about it, so I looked at CDing as a funny hobby for flamboyant gay guys. My college roommate and I used to laugh at (good-naturedly) the drag queens we'd see in the grocery store or out and about (I went to college in Atlanta--Mecca for alternative lifestyles). I have several friends who are gay and I just figured that CDing came with the territory.

Fast forward to today... I know a lot more about CDing and am more ok with it some times than others. Sometimes I still wish that I were FRIENDS with a CD instead of romantically involved with one. I think it would be great to be friends with a CD--instant shopping buddy! :)

Over time, as I came to understand myself to be an 'androgynous' (type?) human, I learned that CDing was a 'normal' part of being 'me'

Although my extensive professional experiences in the GG 'intensive' business of women's wear retailing and management were not all that pleasant, they certainly were educational; ie. I learned a lot about wardrobing, accessorizing, body and size typing, and product quality etc.

Although * never revealing or mentioning CDing *, one day, when I finally arrived at a certain sense of "peace" with myself and 'approached' the subject of * androgyny * with a close ladyfriend and self-confessed 'shopper', she completely 'freaked' on me and from that time on had her husband screen out my phone calls

Eventually, as time (year+) passed, she finally found the courage ('stomach'?) to take a phone call from me: she spoke with me in such a way as to suggest that she was 'conservative', and that if I was 'gay', that would be OK; but that she really didn't understand 'androgyny' and she found it to be a bit 'scarey'

My only remaining wonder from that total experience is about how an 'androgynous' CD would go about 'qualifiying' to become "shopping buddy" to a GG ???

It seems to me that being friends with a CD is pretty much like being "friends" with anybody: (most?) humans have 'on days' and 'off days'; "real friends" stick with you as all the days go by
