Hi, Carol Ann!

We're doing fine up on the mountain, high winds sound worse than a Howler Monkey  and we have our first snow fall, albeit just a dusting of it - maybe a 1/4" at most where it hadn't melted off; the snow does look pretty on the mountainside, though, and at least it's melted off the gravel roads. Virginia said we lost power on/off yesterday, never off for more than 10 minutes at it's longest. :)

Most of the schools and colleges have closed for the next couple of days, but no store closings yet (dang it all, that means I have to go to work today, and thanks to this weather I woke up with a nasty headache - yuck!). :(

The birds are frantic because there's very little food in their feeders - the Blue Jays are squawking up a storm - but it's too cold and windy to think about going out there to refill the feeders - they can either wait for the winds to die down or they'll go back to finding their own food (for a while, anyway)! [-(

To all our friends in the Great Lakes and New England areas . . . we hope you're prepared for this storm, and be safe! [-o<

I too am glad that both you & Virginia are doing ok. You're high up enough not to have to worry about flooding, but the snow fall that they are predicting may cause you a problem. Especially if the power goes out for a few days. Make sure you have enough fire wood to stay warm, and be safe.

Thank you for your concern, ladies!

No flooding worries here - if there were, we'd need an Ark! - and we only had a dusting of snow, and all that is gone now. Other than the brief 'burps' in power outage on Monday - before the storm really hit us - we've maintained power, which also means water as we're on our own well system.

School resumed today for this area and no stores were closed. However, I ended up taking today 'off' due to my weather-induced migraine ... I decided that 'working' with it for 3 days in a row was too much, so I stayed home today with some strong meds to knock that sucker out of my system; my boss is not happy with me, but that's his problem . . . my health comes first!
