Pierced Ears

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Pierced Ears

Post by Anne Bonny »

No way to hide pierced ears, there will always be those little dimples in your lobes. But you can then shop the vast array of beautiful ear rings instead of having to look for clip-ons which while they can be pretty and look good too are hard to find. I know many men today pierce their ears but not from my generation unless you are making some kind of statement - I like women if you know what I mean. Also my family and relatives will notice. I believe at some point I am going to do it but will wait until my mother passes, my father is already gone

Not sure how old you are...but I did it at 48---one or two people commented, but I expected everyone to comment ---my mom didn't even notice till someone else pointed it out to her.

I just smiled and said it was cheaper than a harly or a corvette....lol

and it is wonderful to be able to wear whatever earrings you want!!

Hi Anne,

I pierced mine in my late 50s and wish I had done it in my teens.

I don't know what people think, of course, unless they say something. The only one who ever has is the clueless rightwinger down the street, who tries to tease me about it. I don't encourage that.

Otherwise it's all been on the plus side. I love my piercings and wouldn't be without them.

Love, Robyn Katie

I dunno, you can get into a serious earring collection if you let yourself...and mid-90's Corvettes are getting cheaper and cheaper...

Yes it is.

I have my rebellious youth to thank for the extra holes in my head.

Appreciate your thoughts on this. I am 52 and this would be appropriate for my feminine side which is just a fact of life. I am not waiting or wanting my parents to die, my father was by closest confidant and best buddy. My father never new, and my mother does not know that I am transgendered, she would never acknowledge nor would she accept this. While I stay in the area to provide assistance in her old age, and because my boys are doing well in school I do see her on a regular basis - she is my mother after all. That generation was not programed to acknowledge issues which challenged their construct of how the world is, they would just tough out every problem. Pierced ears are right for me, as I have made the switch to lingerie and shaved legs, so it will soon be with pierced ears.

I had mine done at age 50. Only two people have mentioned them, because it is so commonplace these days.

You won't be outing yourself to your mother, or anyone else for that matter. Simply tell them everyone is doing it these days, and you were curious.

Got mine done in my late 50's. I've only received compliments. Played golf today wearing pairs of red, green and purple studs. It was cold and I commented that they were hurting my ears from the cold. Got a chuckle from my friend's wife(mine does't play). Thanks to my wife I have a good selection of studs, small hoops and crosses. Now if I could get her to loosen up on the rest of the stuff it would be great. :)
Maybe it's just Florida but no one seems to care. I've gone back to my old job site to visit, nada. My kids and grandkids nada! Of course if I wore some really girly ones I mite get a reaction.

My mother left a pair of genuine diamond studs. She had her ears pierced at retirement, and she wore these diamonds for most of the last 22 years of her life. My brother doesn't want them and his GF does not have pierced ears. Neither does my SO, and part of that was because until recently I was so opposed to body piercing in any form. So now, at age 55, I'm having second thoughts about piercing. But if I pierced my ears, my SO would have a fit, and probably rightfully so.

But what do I do with those diamonds? It seems crazy to try to sell them.

So for now, they just sit in a box, taunting me...

Hugs,

Bernice

Post by Pat »

Hi, Bernice,
I would love to have some fairdinkum diamond stud earrings to wear instead of my cheap fakes. In otherwords go and get your ears pierced and start to enjoy life. =D> =D>
Keeping them cupped comfortably.

I pierced my ears about a year ago, at the lofty age of 17. Anywho, what with my incessant teenage rebellion, I quickly went from simple, pierced ears to gauging (stretching) the original holes and adding complimentary piercings above the originals. I also used to have a pierced tongue, and I am looking forward to a lip ring soon. Btw, the stretched earrings aren't ghastly large; I can fit a q-tip through and that's about it.
Every now and then, life proves itself beautiful after all.

I had mine pierced around my 40th birthday, the first a little while before and the second on the day itself. They're pretty conservative at my office (politically, at least), but the most conservative person there said he'd considered having it done himself.;)

you could just say to your family its the modern style. alot of men as you say have them and it can be quite a male hetero statement too just say that if your family notice. I have male flatmates with pierced ears. and spikes and stuff look like masc earings thats what i wear you could wear that in front of them and save the pretty stuff for yourself
