Something to look forward to

I have booked to see the Turner exhibition at the National Gallery n the 31st May. Entry is timed so I have book for the afternoon, so I should have ample time to get up to town and enjoy some lunch. I shall be travelling up by public transport leaving from a nearby station, and aim to spend as much of the whole day as possible as Paula, enjoying many of the pleasures London has to offer ~ good food, the National Gallery and maybe Oxford Street.

I shall delay and decisions about what to wear as the weather is so changeable at the moment, I certainly have enough alternatives nw.

It is a while since I have had an outing like this and so I am really looking forward o it. The only trouble is that I shall be on my own.

To paraphrase your signature line, Paula: "Just because you're alone, doesn't mean you can't have fun!" (But I know that's not what you're saying!)
Who knows? Like the weather being changeable, you might get a companion at the last minute.

I met up with Paula last year when she came up to central London for another exhibition and that was a lot of fun. We sat and chatted in the V+A cafe about all things CD and various other stuff for about an hour and a half (until the museum closed and they threw us out). Of course I was in drab as I've yet to manage to dress up and go out, but still...

This year I feel kind of wound up with all these whirling, conflicting emotions about the CDing and just where it's going (see my eyebrows thread for some of that) and don't really feel controlled enough to open what feels like Pandora's box with another person unless that person is a professional therapist.

Well Paula, I'm hoping you're actively looking for company and I would suggest going outside your comfort zone for a person to go with you or meet you there. You and the exhibit are both good reasons for someone to say "yes". If you have been wanting to let someone into your world, what better way than a nice field trip? Just a thought.

Thank you, I don't think I was fishing for offers, (although I do treasure that tea at the V & A) I was more thinking that a lot of my pleasure form my dressing comes from my interaction with other people as a woman. When that interaction is commercially based there is always the suspicion of a slight taint. I would invite my friend S but I know she has other plans for that day and my friend P will be on holiday, so I shall have to put my thinking cap on.
