I was in a fashion show :)

Post by Steffie »

Hi girls,

Well I participated in the fashion show and lived to tell about it. LOL I hope I didn't set back modeling too much. [GRIN]

Seriously I was a bit nervous but I just tried to follow what the other GG women did. I wore a burgundy skirt, cream colored top and burgundy sweater and decided to use my longer wig as well as my brown boots for this show. I need to work on some things but I guess not too bad considering it was my first time. I had fun and every woman there treated me as one of the girls. I got compliments from some of the other models on the outfit as well as my jewelry selection. Would you believe I wasn't even the tallest girl there. There was a GG there slightly taller than I was even without her boots. A good friend of mine was kind enough to take videos and pictures. :)

To actually go to the mall I wore a pink top, ladies jeans and a dark Bob wig where I entered the mall before I changed for the fashion show. At the end of the show I changed back. I even managed to sneak in some shopping time after the show. :)

Below are pics as well as three videos I posted.

Hi Steffie--
I'm happy that it went well. I have no sound on my computer right now, so videos aren't very interesting to watch, but the pictures look good.

I only watched the one video, but I think you fitted in OK. It's true that you're not the greatest dancer in the world, but so what? Just fitting in was a substantial achievement. Liked the outfit and actually thought the video I watched was quite interesting (with sound...) just to see how the thing worked.

Hi Steph
Way to go girl, I would love to do that. But I do have to agree with Carol, when you were on the cat walk where was that wonderful smile I saw in the pics.

Anyway glad you did, glad you did it. Hope you get to do it again.

Thanks.

I was nervous and without realizing didn't smile as much as I would have liked. They said I could do spring show in May. I will be much better next time. I am determined to!

Hi Steffie--
Remember to video yourself, if you can. Just set up your tripod and start recording. You can quickly see things like not smiling, and you can correct them right there on the spot. Pretty soon you'll be watching the video, and you'll like what you see. It helps you get rid of repetitive gestures, too, because they show up quickly when you're nervous in front of the camera.
