New to the site and new to being out about CD'ing!

Hi there boys and girls! I am Kiera, Elly SO's husband! I have been dressing since I was probably 5 or maybe 6. I am now 30 years old, so to me that is a loooong time dressing! Due to a terrible experience with my parents finding out when I was a kid I have been hiding it for my entire life, including from my spouse. When I was a child, my parents found me partially dressed and blew a gasket. My father beat me black and blue, and my mother just cried for days. They then sent me to a "Christian" counselor who spent the next several years telling me I was wrong for doing this and it was evil and disgusting and mentally sick. So, naturally, I did what anyone else would do....I hid it!!! I loved my wife so much and was so terrified of losing her that I hid it and lied and snuck around in the shadows with my dirty little secret....well she eventually found out and it has actually gone better than I could have ever dreamed it would. Not only is she supportive, but she is sensitive to the past injuries I received from the discovery process. She has taken an interest in this part of me and has spent a lot of time making sure I know that this doesn't mean I am broken (which is what I was taught to believe). She actually is the one that found these forums, and thank GOD she did!!!!!!! I am truly grateful she found out now, because from here on I get to REALLY give her all of me. She now knows every aspect of my life and of who I am and we get to move forward and truly enjoy each other 100%. There are a few trust issues there now, which is absolutely understandable, but she also understands my feeling that I needed to hide it from her. I am truly blessed to have such an amazing partner.

Since she found out, we have talked a LOT about the topic...the things I like, how it makes me feel etc., and she is all ears! She is excited to learn this aspect of me and shares in my joy. She decided after finding out that she wanted to take me shopping, which was awkward but ended up being some of the most fun I've ever had!!! Aside from our wedding day, that was probably one of the best days I've had with her =^) Anyhow, I've talked enough so I'm gonna wrap this thing up. I look forward to speaking with you guys and thank you for this wonderful gathering place!

Oi! Several years of a child being told they're evil (never mind for what) is going to leave a scar. I had something like that from my mother (also about the CDing, though it was never made explicit) and it's still in there.

I am so glad for you that you have a SO that understands you.
It is a shame that your paren'ts treated you this way. I am glad that my parents weren't as stale (although they didn't like it).
