How To handle Hairy Arms & Shoulders For Wearin A Strapless
There is nothing that I would like better is to own and wear a strapless evening gown.
But I have hairy shoulders and arms?
Is there any way to accomplish this fact?
Please advise this girl.
Thanks ladies.

Easiest way is just shave like the rest of the girls do.

remove the hair
however, there are some gowns that have material that is nude in color and makes it look like you are (hairless) wearing a strapless gown.

There are some, like my husband, whose hair is thin and light enough that gradual shaving caused no notice. Even shaved his underarms, but rarely does anybody see there. The constant upkeep is a hassle, so he prefers fashions that provide more coverage. Solo shaving can be difficult to do, and hard to see if you missed a spot. Many go for a body waxing, consider that option.
Honestly though, just as there are some really cute things I'd love to wear, I must consider my physical shape. A man with larger shoulders and bulging biceps will never look good in any strapless dress. There is a limit to how much we can alter our appearance.

Well, what is more important is wearing a beautiful dress! With sleeves or possibly with a jacket.
I think that I will forget the strapless part. Too much hassle. It's he dress that counts!

A jacket is a must anyway. Most places are too cold for bare shoulders. I still have my mink stole, not worn in decades. I used to dress real classy.

Thanks girls.
I think I will skip the strapless part and instead put the emphasis on getting a beautiful evening dress with sleeves and jacket.
I do have muscular shoulders as well as hair.

Why not just go ahead and shave your chest, arms, and back? On the flip side, when the hair grows back you will be itchy and the hair will seem very coarse due to the 'cut ends'. Yes, there is a price for beauty.
Virginia is extremely muscular (thanks to her powerlifting career) and so are a lot of female athletes, yet she does not let that stop her from wearing whatever she wants . . . although she has been known to wear long, gauzy sleeves to cover up her arms - a habit which I'm slowly breaking.

I would love to have shaving my arms as an option but to go from very hairy to no hair would be very noticeable and I don't want to draw attention to my arms. I am able to shave everywhere else with no problem no one will ever see but the arms are tricky I did trim the hair down to be more subtle but I would love to know if there is anything else a girl can do to lighten the hair on the arms perhaps. I would love to wear more options than long sleeves when I go out.

Vanessa, there are bleach type products for arm hair, but naturally it depends on your skin tone. In the meantime, I understand there are some products that slow hair growth. I think you get one with the no no and that's really why the no no can claim to reduce hair growth over time.
Anyway, there are bleaches and you can try getting the hair short, then shorter then even shorter over a long period of time and simply blame age
and then you can see about those terribly expensive hair retardants...

I have the same problem about my hairy arms, I trimmed then down but no hair will go noticed. I did think of a radical solution, I would need to test it out but pulling a similar trick on your arm hair as a drag queen would do on their eyebrows by covering it up completely. The problem is the amount of time it would take and would you have to use glue to really cover the hair or would just adding foundation be enough to lightren the area. I need to test it out to see but I do wish shaving was an option it would make this girl very happy.
Cheers,
Vanessa

Re: How To handle Hairy Arms & Shoulders For Wearin A Strapl
Unless one is 'super hairy' on the arms, legs and/or chest, most people are not going to notice that those areas are clean-shaven.
When Virginia was still competing in powerlifting not one person (male or female) ever commented on the lack of hair, if they even noticed it, that is.
Most people are so caught up in their own little world that they rarely notice what is going on around them. If they did notice, unless it was a 'really big deal' to them most people are not going to say anything. Those that do are usually the ones who feel the need to 'know it all' and always be 'in control' of everyone and/or everything. For point of reference, while by no means am I 'hairy' my arms and face also get shaved daily because I prefer smooth skin . . . and not one person has ever noticed it, not even family.
In other words, quit worrying about things that most likely will never happen.
As Virginia would say, "Go forth, woman, and BE!"
