I just came back from a DWI Education class thie evening, and the class was an hour long, but it counted as 4 hours towards the 35 hours of community service!
I have to report to Eisenhower Park on Wednesday morning to start the rest of my hours. I can have it knocked out by the end of the week! Anyway, I learned some very interesting facts in the class this evening, namely penalties for drunk driving in other countries. This'll blow your minds!
If You're Caught Drunk Driving in...
1. Russia - they revoke your license for life.
2. Malaysia - You go to jail, and if you're married your wife goes to jail too!
3. Turkey - You are taken 20 miles from town by the police and forced to walk back under escort.
4. El Salvador - Your first offense is your last. Execution by firing squad!!!
Just imagine, your caught in Malaysia. You would have to spend the jail time with your wife. It would drive me mad, hearing her complain the whole time we are there, about being in jail because of my error in judgement. Maybe they would have mercy on me and send me to El Salvador.
Wow Lorna, just fancy living in Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, El Salvador, just the thought is enough to drive a person to drink. hic.
Kind Regards.
Sally.
Watch nature, because it’s our greatest teacher, it moves and flows and moves on again. We can never be free until we disengage, so allow life to flow as you find it. The way it is, is the way it is.
I wonder how wonder how often those penalties are enforced, especially the one in El Salvador. Our country has many crazy laws on its books that never get enforced and people just forget about them.
That said, best wishes girl in getting through your 35 hours!
UPDATE: I had a blast today, starting up the rest of my 35 hours...
Instead of having to go thru the park, picking up garbage with a stick like I thought I would, I told them that I had tech experience so I will be working with the technicians for the duration of my hours!
This morning we fixed a few speakers in the County Executive Building, and then set up the microphone & speakers for a press conference near the park. This afternoon we fixed the alarm system at this beautiful museum! I swear, today didn't feel like work - especially at the museum... all of this ancient furniture... we were at the the Sands Point Preserve... it was fun!
I was working in this beautiful ancient mansion turned museum... enjoyed the long ride up there in the beautiful weather... it was a semi-touristy day for me!

Thanks hon. Like who knew that in NC, it was illegal to take a bite out of someone else's hamburger in public. LOL!!!
