Diggin' Deeper

Post by Anthony Simon »

I often look at female impersonator videos, just because I see a lot in common between them and us (CDs). Recently I've been looking at Brian Keith, who is of a certain age and presents a very convincing onstage portrayal.

This video is the one my title comes from:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sNPbyDdf7A

It's a short backstage interview from 1999 (i.e. not his current image) where he's in full drag:

Interviewer: "Which one of you is you?"

BK: "Right now, it's me. I told you. Diggin' deeper. I've got someone else right now. I've got so many different characters in one."

I struggle to find a template to explain myself to myself. But that short exchange seems to capture it. It's me when I dress up and turn into a woman. It is digging deeper. It feels just exactly like getting someone else. And there are many different bits of me, not just me as a woman.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

Interviewer: "I looked.... for a second the way a man looks at a woman"

Brian: "Did ya?....ya did?"

Brian: "Ya got a date for tonight? that what you're telling me?"

"Drywall and spackle"...  well if that's what she calls it I need to brush up on my drywalling. Heck I wish I could look that good, love her makeup

"Diggin Deeper" "I've got someone else right now" Okay that works :)

Nice video Anthony thanks for sharing.
One wears a mask for so long you forget who you are beneath it......I've now removed my mask.

The makeup is wonderful - but it is drag makeup, stage makeup. I mean, when you compare her stage performance to that in the interview:

She looks absolutely staggering - I'd say a notch up on the backstage interview, where you can still "see the joins" a bit.

Actually my main interest in her comes because of how incredibly convincing she is as a middle-aged woman:

I also confess to being fascinated by how she turns into a man in:

Hi,

To me very interesting a very good actor and very hard to explain my thoughts , I know many men can and do look stunning with all the props makeup and so on and yes carry it off so well,

I had a look at the part where he changed clothes and presented as him self, a good singer too,

This part of ,= I looked as a man would look at a woman. think I understand that.

Over all a good show and those there seemed to injoy it as well,

Thanks for sharing the video.

I too try to explain myself. Am I two persons - a man and a woman?

When I dress as a woman, I become a woman - very feminine and womanly. And I make a very attractive and passible woman.

It took a long time for my feminine side to come out but I certainly enjoy it.
I AM NOW A WOMAN- I FOUND MYSELF
