Sounds silly I know but I have really mixed emotions right now so happy that this wall between us has started to weaken but slightly shocked at seeing him like this.
Good news, Louise! No doubt that it might take some getting used to - for both you and your son. Like the others have said... baby steps. One day at a time. Eventually, the initial shock will wear off. I can imagine that it may seem like a lot now, but with time, it will get easier. Just continue to show your support... sounds like that's what your son needs the most right now. An hopefully you can find the support that you need here! :)

Well, here it is some 9 years later. . .

Certainly your son has had time to consider the matter. . .I know when I was his age and had started crossdressing, it was a tough thing at times to work through with the tools a teenager has available. As I recall, I knew that it was more of a sexual fetish sort of thing, as my parents had given me a copy of "Everything you always wanted to know about sex* But were afraid to ask" by Dr. David Ruben.

Although helpful, he only touched on the issue, and in doing so, the book let me know there were others and that behavior was not that unusual or worrysome.

And yes, my mother caught me a couple of times at around the time I started. While she did not approve, she didn't exactly disapprove either. (That was about '73 to '75)

If you are still around, I would be curious to know how your situation worked itself out?
