Is the braless look returning?

Post by Diana Michelle »

Found this as I was reading the Free Press online this morning.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/2016 ... /87111292/

I found this article to be quite the dichotomy as it relates to a lot of the girls here. Many of you can't wait to put your bra on and the women of the world can't wait to take them off. :-k

There was time I always wore an underwire bra but over the years soft cup bras have found their way into my drawer to give the girls a break. I have even recently purchased a couple bralettes for just around the house as they are comfy and the modern ones do offer some level of support unlike the flimsy little bras of yore. I would never think of wearing a bralette out and about and for most occasions I do opt for an underwire bra as I feel they offer the best support and make me look the best. Still I do love the fact we have options. :)

Braless? I hope not! Some women should never go braless in public. The young and beautiful may get away with certain fashions for a time, but those perky breasts will eventually sag come middle age without proper support.

Bras now days are much more comfortable than my mother's generation, much more than grandmother's. Granny was also big breasted and I remember her sitting in her house dress with her boobs resting on her thighs. As I was starting to develop my own need for a first bra, I vowed to take care of the girls so they would be lovely in older age. That effort was worth it.

The Hollywood life is not reality. Even in a polite society, a braless woman commuting to work and at work, will draw rude attention. I recall the short lived braless craze in the 70's. Riding public transportation, women were elbowed, touched, rubbed against, because 'she asked for it'.
Men have an obsession with women's breasts, a lady with self respect should be a bit more modest.

I have to agree that a woman looks better with a proper fitting and supportive bra and for work or more formal settings I would never think of going without a proper bra. I do admit the bralette is quite comfy and if properly selected offer adequate support for casual settings.

I haven't been at this as long as you Eileen but there have been a few times I have wanted to say to some man:

Going Braless, Showing the Nips

Post by Martha »

I did a search on braless and it seems like no one has really discussed it here. Why is that? I think seeing women's nipples are so sexy. Think Jennifer Aniston! ..|/- . Is it wrong for a CD'er to show the nips?

What is with men and breasts? I don't remember exactly the old joke goes but the it is something like:

Why don't men have breasts?

Because men would then be totally worthless because all they would do is play with them all day!

in answer to your statement Martha no self respecting woman today would go out showing her nipples. Maybe back in the 70's when the braless look was the rage and many women eschewed bras. Sadly even back then the ones who went braless never should have. Todays bras are far more comfortable and many even have "petals" in the cups to insure that there is no nipple show through. Women have struggled to reach a place where we are more than sexy eye candy for the leering general public. I for one do not want to take a step backwards!

I'd like to respond to Martha's post and mean no disrespect. Just from my experience, CD's start out dressing as their fantasy girlfriend. Some may never get past that style. Hopefully, they will learn to dress as the average women for their age and body type.

Some women have prominent areola or nipples, cup size does not matter. For most women, nipples that show through clothing is embarrassing. Just as a man with an erection should be. There are times and places to display an excited state, not while picking up kids at a day care center, or in the local gym shower.

I never went in for the braless fashion in the 70's, not very practical pushing a D cup size, then a second.
My husband tells of one friend back then who, as a manger at large chain food store, liked to watch women bend over the meat deep freezer to see the obvious results.

So, to all my sisters here, whatever birth gender, do you all see yourselves as women when dressed, or as a sexual object to be judged on a scale?

Maybe I hold a bit of resentment of this braless fashion of 40 years ago because I couldn't be part of it, some friends of mine could. After some time, most said it was just uncomfortable, like being half-naked in public. I would hope that men that desire to dress or live as women, even part time, would have more respect for women and all our body attributes than mere sexual enticement for the viewing male.

Personally I like the new bralettes and even though a lady my age shouldn't wear one I do! They are comfy and if one's breasts are still somewhat perky it is easy to get away with. I do wear them out but only with certain tops. At 63 I am too old to be showing my nipples to the world.
