I don't believe it! I did the tedious test, got my results, tried to print screen, and lost the lot!!! :(

Fortunately I remember the score, and type, so was able to crib 'what this means' from Alexandra's post. :)

So, here's my result:

Your COGIATI result value is: -5 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification THREE, ANDROGYNE
What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be essentially androgynous, both male and female at the same time, or possibly neither.
In some cultures in history, you would be considered to be a third sex, independent of the polarities of masculine or feminine. Your gender issues are intrinsic to your construction, and you will most likely find your happiness playing with expressing both genders as you feel like it.

Perhaps my score says something about my inability to save the result of my test--I'm also pretty hopeless at reverse parking, and catching balls (no double-entendre intended). :(

In any event, I think the test is about as accurate as the horoscopes in newspapers, though amusing to do.

Frankly, I like being a hetero man, it's just that at times I want to be a 'lipstick lesbian', and I really enjoy that too.

What is more interesting than the test is reading other people's feedback on their own results.

I can see this topic running for some time.

Caroline.

I wrote the above without having seen SharonRose's post explaining the methodology behind the test. Hi SharonRose, that was a v useful piece of info that only a vapid 'dumb blonde' like me could miss.

The classifications are as follows, quote: The breakdown is thus:

-650 to -389 Class 1 (Definite Male)
-390 to -129 Class 2 (Feminine Male)
-130 to 129 Class 3 (Androgyne)
130 to 389 Class 4 (Probable Transsexual)
390 to 650 Class 5 (Classic Transsexual)

The sexual gratification-based, fetishitic transvestite would fit Class 1
The mostly sexual / fetishistic but slightly gender involved crossdresser fits Class 2
The serious transgenderist fits Class 3
The most common type of transsexual (well over 70%) fits Class 4
The rarest, early onset, 'classic model of early research' transsexual fits Class 5 :unquote.

On that basis, I was a Class 1, but have developed into a Class 2, yet the test has me as Class 3. Interesting, huh?

Well, whatever, I still enjoy it, and do no-one any harm, including myself.

Caroline.

Your COGIATI result value is: 270 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification FOUR, PROBABLE TRANSSEXUAL

What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be essentially feminine, but with some masculine or androgynous traits. It is very possible that you are a candidate for a diagnosis of transsexualism. You show a strong degree of gender dysphoria. At the very least, further investigation should be undertaken. Your COGIATI score places you among the majority of those diagnosed as transsexuals, the 'late onset' tanssexual.

I can't say this surprises me. Which is why I am in therapy.
Love to all,

our COGIATI result value is: -140 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification TWO, FEMININE MALE

What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be mostly masculine, and that your gender issues are primarily matters of personal expression rather than a medical problem. Any struggles you have are most likely caused by internal shame over your needs and desires, or because of curiosity over what those needs represent. There is, however, some indication of a strong feminine side to your being, and this is intrinsic to your constitution.

Happiest being me in a dress. Go figure.

I hadn't heard of the COGIATI test before, so, after reading another thread I went on line and found the test. My results:
The
COMBINED GENDER IDENTITY AND TRANSSEXUALITY INVENTORY
( COGIATI )
RESULTS
Your COGIATI result value is: -170 Which means that you fall within the following category:
COGIATI classification TWO, FEMININE MALE
What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be mostly masculine, and that your gender issues are primarily matters of personal expression rather than a medical problem. Any struggles you have are most likely caused by internal shame over your needs and desires, or because of curiosity over what those needs represent. There is, however, some indication of a strong feminine side to your being, and this is intrinsic to your constitution.
SUGGESTIONS FOR ACTION:
Your situation is fairly uncomplicated, so you should be relieved.
Since your situation is almost certainly not a matter of any real physical or biological concern, the suggestions for your circumstance are relatively simple.
1. If you have any uncomfortability about your gender expression, counseling might well prove helpful. The primary goal would be to make it possible for you to enjoy your gender expressions free from any shame or embarrassment, and to resolve any remaining questions you might have.
2. Your gender issues and expressions are more than mere play, and are a form of personal identity expression, but this is no indication of transsexualism. Indeed, all information suggests that the path of the transsexual is not one you should take, as it would almost certainly lead to severe unhappiness. It is possible that a partial step towards greater feminine expression might lead to greater happiness, but such an undertaking should be approached with extreme caution.
3. If you have not already, consider joining any of the thousands of groups devoted to gender play of various varieties. There is literally a world of friends to discover who share your interests. There are also publications, vacations, and activities that would expand your gender play.

regarding the COGIATI, as mine was also class 4, probable transsexual,

i was discussing this at another forum a while ago, and came to the obvious conclusion that...no test can determine who you really are, only you know that, you may be confused, but all the results are going to do is put things in your head, what if it came back and said that you are the most manly person ever who would never even look at a pair of hose, would it change your mind, no...

someone told me "Gender has simply too many variables to have clearly defined outcomes in a simple questionnaire" and i agree.

these tests are just fun.

well...this is surprising...i know some of you said that your score has jumped on the COGIATI...i just took it now, to place my score up with the rest of you...and i actually jumped up a class...but like i said, you are who you are, and we already know that....

but here are my results...

Your COGIATI result value is: 390 Which means that you fall within the following category:

COGIATI classification FIVE, TRANSSEXUAL
What this means is that the Combined Gender Identity And Transsexuality Inventory has classified your internal gender identity to be female. According to COGIATI, your mind and gender identity is that of a woman.
You essentially fit the the model of the classic transsexual, and you should not ignore your gender issues, they will only become more severe.
You definitely need to seek treatment.

SUGGESTIONS FOR ACTION:

Your situation is serious and highly indicative of an inborn gender conflict. It is strongly recommended that you pursue further action.

The suggestions for your circumstance are important.

1. It is recommended that you seek help from a sympathetic counselor or professional about your gender issues. Over time they will become increasingly difficult to cope with. Early confirmation and diagnosis of your transsexuality is vital. The sooner you seriously seek help, the more likely you are to not only survive, but to be happy as well.

2. Some actions may help you to define your condition to yourself more clearly. Experimenting with living full time as a woman, taking hormones for a short time under supervision, or taking testosterone suppressers to observe how you feel are all viable options. Keep in mind that while it is extremely likely that you are a transsexual, it is not certain. Do not take severe or permanent actions without careful thought and the help of counselors and professionals.

3. Your gender issues are real, and should not be ignored! Neither should you rush into acting on them, however powerful they may feel. Transition to a body with a female sex may be your salvation, but it is imperative that you be absolutely sure of what your really want. Act IMMEDIATELY to pursue solving your gender dysphoria. Seek professional assistance IMMEDIATELY.

4. If you have not already, consider joining any of the thousands of groups devoted to gender expression of various kinds. There is literally a world of friends to discover who share your interests. There are also publications, vacations, and activities that would expand your gender expression.

5. You have my wishes for your happiness, my sister. Good luck.

I love tests! :P I tested -20 androgynous. This is what I pretty much expected. Everything in my life is about balance. I know I'll never be Ms. Perfection Paint and Body. I love dressing & using makeup as a female but I don't tend to worry whether people can 'read' me or if I have a run or ten in my stockings, etc. I like to look very feminine but I doubt I would ever get and sort of medical procedures to enhance this (although I would like to get rid of my facial hair & get a larger bust, if it weren't too much trouble...)

Another interesting thing; I sent a few of my blog entries through Gender Genie and it had a difficult time reading me, the values were always within 100 of each other. Also, it generally read me as female if I were talking about my own emotions or emotional subjects, and as male if I were trying to make an argument or convince someone of something. Kewl!! I think I like being 'neither one nor t'other'. As I always say (these days), borders are for suckers.

result: 60 Androgyne

I'm not surprised at all to be honest. :)

This is why i'm looking to go only so far as growing breasts and other side effects fo hormone therapy because it finally sets my body to the point that my mind is at.

It is a relief though to see that a test that's proven acurate for many others be acurate with how I view myself. :)

So did anyone else get a sense of renewed comfort with their direction in crossdressing from this test?
Sig? What sig?
OH! THIS Sig! ;)

Yes. Even if it is a placebo-type trick test, it worked. 8)

Hi girls,

Like most of the "aptitude" type tests I have been taking since I was a kid, it becomes fairly easy to predict what answers you need to have, to get the outcome you expect. I have tried to put that aside and be as truthful as possible while taking this test, however I must admit that description of me from the results of this test, do match exactly what I was expecting them to say. 275 Probable Transexual. But not really a big surprise, I have known I was a transexual since I was 9 years old.

I am not so sure the test told me anything, perhaps I just told the test what i already beleived to be true. Who knows? Did the test have an impact on the direction my life as taken? Perhaps, I have used the test as proof of what I believe about myself to be true. But I guess once you beleive it, it don't really matter if you have proof.

Love always,

Hi girls,

Tried to save the result, but had some problems as well . #-o #-o Still I scored 85 (third sex). I think the test for me was fairly accurate. Love my femme side and expressing it through CDing, but being male is the more dominant side for me.
As I have said before, as have many others, I enjoy the best of both
worlds. :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
