Thank you so much Tara!
I talked to my wife and I think I'm pretty sure going to do it. I'm going to take a vacation and get them pierced. This way I can have 10 days off to heal and then I'll use the cover up thingies.
I have no idea exactly when I'm going to, but I feel I totally want to wear hoop earrings. I have the hoop earrings form Cliptomania, but they end up leaving a bruise that looks much worse than a tiny ear hole.
Anyway, THANKS for all of the advice!!!!

Well girls, I look at it like this. I came into this "veil of tears" with just so many holes in my body and other than the ones that Ho Chi Min and his SAMS tried to put in me, I think I will check out with the same number. There are some really pretty clip-ons available so I will just suffer the crushing pressure on my lobes!
Love.
Deborah

Hi all,
I'm with Deborah in my personal view on ear piercing - I can find a pretty good seletion of clip earrings, and I consider any slight discomfort from them as my "suffering for style". Most of my clip earrings come from dollar stores, and all have cost well under $10.
I'm taking numerous meds for arthritis so it would take longer to heal due to them. This would be also be stretching my wife's comfort zone. In addition, if I did it anyway, she probably wouldn't want to share earrings - the one thing she is really fussy about is her pierced earrings, liking only decent quality posts, and cleaning them before wearing on a regular basis. Once in a catalog I saw a clip adaptor for pierced earrings and her reaction was negative.
On top of all that, Jadeanne chose to be a blonde, so she doesn't need any more holes in the head

I myself feal it's about time to jump on the Piercing wagon. I never got mine done before as my father allways told me he would rip it out
. I think I'm past that stage of my life though. So now I just need SO approval. I noticed at work that about 30% of the guys have thier ears pierced and most of them in both ears...... come to think of it most are clean shaven too hmmmmmm I wonder.

Hmmm Good point. I hadn't noticed. Funny how we scrutinize ourselfs but overlook others. Goes back to the point of "most people really don't notice or care"

Last summer I went to the customer service desk of a local store looking for something advertised in their Sunday flier and the man who waited on me was in his eary 20s at most and had really femme shaped eyebrows. He did have both ears pierced.
I just trim mine slightly every once in a while, since I limit my dressing to home.

I totally understand for those who don't want to get it done.
To be honest if I was asked a year ago, I would have said what Deborah said.
The ONLY way I'll keep them pierced though is if I can hide the piercings. Like my CD'ing (clothing) I don't want my male role to be interfered with.
This is going to be part trial period, part personal growth. I hope that makes sense. I'm still going to do it, but I will let them heal if I can disguise it to people who I meet in my everyday life. ESPECIALLY my family!
lol
Thanks for the support atta girl Stef!
Cami, good luck with the SO approval!!!
Although my wife said "ok" I'm going to wait a little while to make sure everything is REALLY ok before I make that move. I think I'm kind of using her as an out though, because she thought it was silly to take an extra week off. lol
If you get the approval maybe we can get it done on the same day, in different places.

I'm nervous and I haven't even taken a step to do anything!
lol

Beauty,
It's gonna hurt! Your ears will bleed! What if they miss and drill into your head? Just kidding girl! You go for it, but you have to tell us all about it!
Just don't do like my wife did in college. Hard to believe, then again knowing her maybe not. Anyway I will be brief and leave it to your imagination - ice cubes and a knitting needle!
Love,
Deborah
