Pink polish on toes
Ok, this may not sound like much, but was a huge step for me. I went out of the house with open toe sandles (brown birks, nothing manly or girly about them) and pink nail polish on my toes. Any one looking would have noticed that my nails where pink, it was not a brite pink, but noticable.
My wife asked me to run up to the grocery store and I told her I needed to put my tennis shoes on, she asked why, and I told her I was afriad someone would notice. She said no one would, and if they did tell them I made you do it.
I went to the store, nobody noticed, we went for a long walk and ran into some people we knew, nobody noticed.
My family came over for lunch and no one noticed. We went to my wifes family for supper and no one noticed. Now I am finding myself wanting someone to notice. Not that I am going to blirt out that I am a crossdresser, but it would be fun if someone did notice.
Not ready for brite red in public, but this pink may stay on for the summer.

Hi Jenney, It's funny some times how that works out when your sure everyone is going to notice something about you. I paint my toes from time to time, and always wear shoes to hide them when I go out. I hate it, especially in the summer. Your story was a bit of an inspiration. I like to take walks at a park area near my home and I now I really want give that a try. I know it will feel so much better outside in sandals.

Hi, Jenney
You go, girl!
You'll be surprised at some of the reactions you'll get when people do start to notice. I've been wearing nail polish for several years and yes, there are those who stare and whisper, but the complements are much more memorable. I've had GGs walk up and offer sincere compliments. One lady told me she wished she could convince her husband to wear polish.
Just start slow. There was a time when I felt self-conscious about wearing even a clear topcoat. Now, I have no problem with wearing flip-flops in to places like the gym where I work out. I'm wearing OPI's Senorita Rose-alita presently. After a while you just stop worrying what people think.
You are fortunate to have such an understanding wife!
Take care,
Angie

Hi Jenney
Congratulations girl!
. Your wife was completely right that people would not likely notice. People tend to look some one in the face when they meet them and don't usually concentrate on a persons feet.
I'm finding it quite amazing just our oblivious to changes to ones personal apperarance can be. I had my ears pierced a few months back and have worn diamond and pearl studs and only one person has noticed or said a word.. She even went on to give me advise on how to treat my earrings with hydrogen peroxide to prevent any irritation to my ears from cheap jewelley.
I've also been shaving my legs and plucking my eyebrows and the same thing applies..not a word from anyone who has seen. I pulled out a few pictures of myself taken a few years back and compared to some taken recently and the difference is quite dramatic yet people do not seem to notice or if they do they have not commented.
Its funny but like yourself I do wish someone would take notice
Maybe I will follow your lead and paint my toenails this year for the summer season
Hugs

Hi Jenny,
I wrote of a very similar experience I had last summer. It sounds as if we experienced the same thing.
Our experience was so similar, I just wanted to show how similar our experieces as crossdressers could be. I just love knowing I am not alone. It feels so great being at this site with all my sisters who continually remind me I am no longer in this alone.
Love always,
Elizabeth

Hi girls,
I went out today for the first time with my toenails painted while wearing sandals. I had them painted a very pretty pale pink. I also was wearing these beautiful earrings that are chrome plated star hanging from a hook. My fingernails are almost a 1/4 long perfectly shaped and coated with several coats of clear glossy nail polish.
OMG!!!!!
Now I know this is really no big deal for most of you, But it was like robbing a bank in an invisable suit. I felt great, and no one even noticed my toes, my nails or my earrings. I got into my usual conversation in the check out line, and really all that happened was I felt great.
Everyday, in everyway, I am getting better and better.
Love to all,
Elizabeth

Dear Jenney,
Hey, is that polish on yor toes??? See, I noticed! hehe
Actually, your wife was correct in telling you that nobody would notice. From your description, it was a pale pink, so are most peoples toes when not polished. And most people don't go around staring at others feet. Well, there was this one guy at a party once, but that was his "thing". Aside from that.... not really. Weman look at each others sometimes just to see if the other one has had a peticure in the last few weeks, some weman are actually that caty, but not all.
In short I think what you did was VERY brave. keep us posted and let us know if you change your polish to another shade.

fears
It is funning what we fear sometimes, and what the actual reallity of it is. I was afriad someone would notice I had pink toes, no one did now I am miffed, go figure. Of course if someone does notice, and asked me I probbally will stammer for a few seconds, before I tell them my wife made me do it, when what i really what to say is, I like the colo,r and leave it at that.

I've been getting manicures off and on for about a year now, always with clear polish. I was thinking of getting one tomorrow morning, and I've decided to go whole hog and get a pedicure, as well (the salon gives a discount if you do both). Maybe I'll follow the trend and go for pink polish myself. The last time I went out in drab wearing color on my toes, it was Sally Hansen Uranium (sort of a gunmetal color). Nobody said anything to me. This could be fun.

That was me back in May. I never went to get that pedicure, and it was another month before I did the manicure, either. Now I'm on an "every two weeks" schedule. I got my first pedicure near the end of June, with no polish. I wanted to go with pink, but there were soo many (Jaye wrote:I've been getting manicures off and on for about a year now, always with clear polish. For the 4th of July, my wife and I painted each others toes, red, white and blue. There was no missing the color if you looked, but you know most people did not even notice, until told about it. My mother did notice, about 2 hours after we got to her place, her comment was "O my god, my son has nailpolish on his toes" We just laughed and said we where being patriotic.
