Adverse luck continues 8 months on

Post by Merinda »

A nice day in the city dressed as Merinda , yeah right!!

I have totally had a gut full of everything going against me everytime I dress up or attempt to dress up , before Christmas 2005 I had a full page of incidents written in referance to CDing from last June .

December was a CDing disasterous month big time with about 6 different things going against me at once.

This year has not improved with cancellations of photosessions in January (always some reason) , a major photosession was stopped in early Feb due to bad weather and family issues.

Today I attempted Merinda in the city and failed to get one photo of myself in there , instead I couldn't park , I was held in a 1&1/2 hour trafic jam just trying to get out with every second road closed off for road work.
The public carpark I wanted was in the middle of the closed off section.

I attempted some photo's in a local empty carpark and had to abort quickly when a group of youths came too close.

I am so sick of this , has someone put a curse on me ????
Between 2003 & May 2005 I had one bad CDing day , since June last year everyday CDwise has been against me bla*bla*bla

Serious changes to my CDing status to follow (when I calm down and think clearly)

END RANT

(--) Sorry to hear that Merinda.

Maybe its time to experience more than just photo sessions. Like visit a museum or library enfemme. Someplace quiet, someplace new.

Is Celeste still having get togethers?

Hey Hon,
I know what you mean, sometimes you just can't put things together. I called a couple of pro-photo shops about coming to my home and doing a spread. Both were very willing and give me some, well higher than I imagined prices, but I am still considering it. Can you do something like that?
Keep the faith honey, I know it will get better.
Love ya,
Virginia

Thanks ladies ,

Donna ,
The last get-together that I attended was back in May last year , I missed one in July that I didn't know about and I was unable to attend the one in October.
The December party (Celestes birthday party was cancelled) and I've heard nothing since.

Virginia ,

I remember reading your thread about having professional photo's taken and the cost involved , another way you could achieve this is to buy a camera and tripod and use the self timer mechanism on the camera.
My original photo's were done with my camera bolted to the side of a step ladder on self timer , my daughter does the job of photographer these days.

The amount of stress involved in these outings is not worth it , the last outings have not been any joy.
The big thrill of going out en-femme has been replaced with anger and frustration and thats not what this is meant to be about.

I will go out again (at least once) or until I get the result of an ejoyable experience again , I want to finish off on a high note.
I will be returning to domestic dressing thereafter. ((G))

Hey girlfirend don't forget about my getting a speeding ticket!!?? Of course he was cute but 10:00pm on a Sunday night and doing 32 in a 25 mph zone???? One of our more "astute" sisters said he just probably wanted to meet a cute blond in a Jag - well I hope I made his night. Then the time I stopped at a crosswalk to let two couples cross the street in front of me. One of the guys gave me a bigger than normal smile and his SO looked at me then at him smiling at me and he got a nice elbow in the ribs!
We have to look for our fun where we can find it, so don't stop looking and it will find you!
Love,

Don't Give Up

Post by Hayley »

Merinda,

Please sweet, don't give up. Remember this is your life, and as life has taught us all at some stage, not everything will go as planned all the time. Yeah so, you're going through a rough patch, we all do.

My best friend (other than my SO), out with a bunch of lads, ran into a CD the other night in town, they were laughing and mocking and it wasn't until Megs said anyone of the lads among them could also be a CD and she had a right to be treated like a lady because that is how she presents, that the boys gave up and even had a think. The CD thanked her kindly and went on her way. Probably feeling a little bit embarrassed but satisfied that some one does care.

We all have good and bad times that can be for a day or a life time.

I wish I lived in such a tolerant place like Sydney or Melbourne again, but alas I am not that lucky at the moment. I cannot go out for fear of meeting those that know my male side, for fear of my career being destroyed through societies prejudice. So I dress at home and love the time I get to spend with my SO and her 14yr old daughter, just us girls. Never give up hope, just stop stressing and take a time out.

Give the days out a rest for a while, the only pressure you are probably feeling is from within yourself. We all get excited when our times out dressed go well and we begin to believe (falsely I might add) that things are like that all the time. Others venture out and have such a bad time that they closet themselves again and never venture out again, much to the detriment of their self-esteem. Take the good with the bad. But please...... Don't give up and confine yourself. Just take a time out for a couple of weeks and have a think about what your true expectations are and what your current expectations have lead to believe. It could simply be that you are just pushing yourself too hard.

If you want a night out with other CD's then try a support group like Chameleon or Seahorse. Always a great night. I am still a member with the Seahorse Society of NSW, and I miss my nights out with the girls. I live where no support group exists, and that is so hard to take. I feel lost sometimes as well.

Be strong Sister.

We are here for you, just yell if you need to chat.

Hi Merinda,

So sorry about your recent run of bad luck, hon... I have lived through everything that you & the others have described, and then some. #-o But it always happens to the best of us. Fear not - these little setbacks will have to eventually pass real soon. (--)

* hugs *

Thanks girls ,

I should explain that when I decided to go out in public back in 2004 It was only meant to be short term , I wanted to experience something that had always been a fantasy of mine.
My original plan was to go out at least once for the experience , then I would go out a second time if successful and then a third for a bonus.
I enjoyed it so much in those days that then came 4th , 5th , 6th outings and so on and so on.
I dont seem to get a lot of enjoyment from going out lately and then when everything runs against you I come home wishing that I hadn't gone out.

I think the problem is that it has gone on too long , however I will coninue on until I have an enjoyable successful mission again , at least then I can finish going out on a good note.

I did some photo's on Sunday , I decided at the last minute not to go out and did a homesession instead.
Apart from comming very close to being caught by a neighbour the afternoon was a success , I discarded only 2 photo's from 24 .

Hopefully the bad weather has now passed and I can soon return to full power.

Merinda,

I'm glad to read that things are starting to improve a bit for you.

22 out of 24 photos as keepers is a great ratio!

My 3 photo sessions so far have been solo efforts, setting up the digicam on a tripod on the bed in the main guest bedroom, then using the 10 second timer.

My first session produced my maid avatars - 50 plus shots, lots of bloopers.

I disliked my makeup on the 2nd session and got from that only a Christmas season avatar that was only up here a very short time, also from 50+ shots.

The 3rd one produced the one or 2 I currently have in the gallery, with almost half not that bad from 90 shots.

I haven't stepped out of my house dressed femme, so you are way ahead of me on that, too!

We are looking forward to seeing some of the new pictures and reading of a future successful outing.

Sorry for bringing this old thread back to the surface but I thought It requires updating.

Firstly you'll be pleased to know that from April my bad run relating to CDing stopped and I've enjoyed May , June , July , Aug , Sept and October with a moderate amount of action and plenty of shopping.

However !

The off topic aspects of my life have taken a battering in the last 2 months

* 1 week holiday in August stressed due to father-in-law terminally ill

* suffered a severe dose of influenza , fever , headaches , bodyaches etc

* father-in-law dies on my birthday

* notified to vacate our rented property whilst mourning death

* strangers inspecting inside our house whilst mourning death

* next door neighbour and friend dies

* second dose of respiritory illness in a month

* lost my 1 hour lunchbreak at work

* car has major mechanical breakdown

I'M ABOUT TO HAVE A MAJOR BREAKDOWN if anything else happens this year !!arg!!
