But I still do not have an answer to the first part of the question just the first .... Which can only mean that when it comes to mom they are usually there for you (with exceptions) Just my thought ....
When is it that spending to much time is not enough ... with your mother????
Well, you are right, Jessie, when you say that moms are usually there for you, with exceptions.
After re-reading your question, I would have to say that the answer is "There is no such thing as having spent 'too much time' with your mother, which takes on even more meaning if she is seriously ill."
Time spent with your mother becomes 'too much' if she is not your 'best friend' in addition to her being your mother.
Does that make sense?

Yeah. My sis and I have been broken on the rack of my mothers progressive dementia. Our 85 years old mother begins her sojurn in a nursing home 4/6. Her decline surpassed our abilities to cope last month, and only her overall good bone health kept her from broken bones as she tried to navigate the steps on the porch while my sis was indisposed in the bathroom. She was on the sidewalk at the foot of the steps, tangled in her walker and crying from the pain. She told my sis she was going to walk home. Just bruises, but it's started to take a community to watch over her. I hope everything will be OK.

Carolynn - I wish your mother the best of care while in the nursing home - - and I hope that you (and your sister!) do remember to take care of yourselves, too! Being a caregiver - even if that person is in a nursing home - takes a lot out of a person, and you need "me" time also!!
Been there - done that - still doing it - and not even a t-shirt to show for it!!

What am I doing? I should be going through my closet to figure out what to wear for the next 3 days at TG Pride, instead of being online. Heck, I even have to try things on to see if anything still fits Then I have to figure out what jewelry to take. Shoes as well. How do women do this?
Hey, CJ - - My mom taught me to never use 4-letter words - - I always thought she meant kids, baby, and work!
Love ya, my friend!!
