Question: about makeup

Post by Jessie »

I have always wondered how (gg) learn how to use make-up is it from friends or might it be from an elder female who showed them or was it just trial and error, like it seams to be for me, I am just curious about this.

Personally, I learned from my best friend.

I had always been a sort of tom-boy, and she thought it would be "hilarious" to put makeup on me. We were going out for a night on the town followed by a concert, so she felt the need to "doll us up".

Now whenever I put makeup on, I do it the same way she did :P I find that when I do the "trial and error" thing, it ends up looking bad. It could just be that I'm not used to it, though!

Most of us learned from each other and Seventeen magazine. Those slumber parties we all had in 8th grade? Those were big ol' makeup sessions. We all looked like racoons by the end of the night, I promise you!

For me, it was trial and error and magazines. Nobody ever showed me. Girls didn't really do sleepovers when I was growing up, I don't have any sisters and my mum has never worn makeup. It came quite naturally to me, I have always loved makeup, I don't really know how that happened, with a mother totally uninterested in her appearance!

Like Curly, I learned by trial-and-error and from magazines. I never went to many sleep-overs, I'm the oldest daughter, and mom rarely uses make-up so I had to learn by myself how to apply makeup.

I did schedule a session with Merle Norman shortly after graduating from high school, though, and I continue to use their recommendations to this day.
